Need Help with KTN Build

I need help with my Katana Build. I can't do as much damage as others are doing, just came back to Toram from a 5-year hiatus and is really messing up when it comes to damage output.

Below are my equipment:
Weapon: 6th Anniv. KTN VI +S (Player Made) with Vulture & Hexter Xtal
Armor: Elfin Armor +E (Player Made) with Gemma & Ferzen the Rock Dragon Xtal
Hat: Top Hat with Baphomela & Tappler Xtal
Accessory: Machina Ring with Specter of Death and Volgagon/Patissia Xtal (I interchange them depending on the need)

My Stats at Lvl 227: STR is 250 / DEX is 336

Am I missing something here? I have been following guides all over the internet but still my damange output is fairly low. Also if you guys can share a level up spot for solo players for lvl 227 above, it would be great.

You just need to practice the gameplay to get the hang of it.

Venena II ultimate and Espectro for levelling. You don't need to solo since there's always party available there. ^_^

 

Thanks for the info, but my concern here is that the dmg output for ganryu is ranging from 700-900k only at lvl 227 (I tested it on atro), what I see in the videos, their damage to atro using ganruyu is around 1M+. Is there any way to improve my damage?

 

You need to use dte weapon, armor and consumables if you want big numbers.

Dte is damage to element. You told us your gear but not the stats of it. For example im using a 6th ktn 151+s hexter a10d10cd6cd21cr24

Gaoryu 10/10 hits 2m+ without buffs on alto.
Im a total noob when it comes to katana, just made it for fun.
For damage to element you can make 2s adv garbs to be cheap and effective (dte20cd10cd20cr24 is 100% on pot53 arm).

Armor: Elfin Armor 115+E S10Ddark17CD20CR21 gemma + ferzen xtal
Head: top hat with baphomela + tappler xtal
Machina ring: SOD + volvagon xtal
at LVL 230 I am hitting only like 1M+ to alto without buffs, I dunno what I am missing here or if my build is wrong, but I am not satisfied with the dmg output, in pt I am always 3rd when it comes to DMG so I might have messed up somewhere in between.

 

Id change that ferzen for dx fighter if you have the spina. Also alto is neutral so your armor isnt the element to get an increase on it. To hit 2m you need to also not forget prorate normal attacks between tenryu and use gaoryu on 10 stacks. Also dont forget you can break armor with Zantei. As for parties, well, cf is a lot easier when dealing out tons of damage, especially if target moves a lot. 2h and hb use SH so they deal pretty op damage too. It just depends on a lot of factors for katana, but its pretty fun.

 

For example my cf hits 4.8m on alto with buffs on. But 5/5 cf takes 40sec to charge. In 40 sec you could do around same, if not more, with katana. Granted the boss allows you to, doesnt teleport every 2sec and you're timing the parry to not be dead 80% of battle

 

Probably lack of proration. You have too much unsheathed. Garyou is not unsheathed btw so that might be one of the cause your garyou is lower than what you have expected.
