Need help with Unique Mage Tank Idea!

Hi all. I really need all your ideas, critics, suggestions about a mage tank that i will build. Here's the list of gears i have.
1. Spirit's Tear for great AMPR.
2. Time Warp Watch for recover -1000 aspd from the staff.
3. Circle of Order + E
4. Fullcrit 14 Armor
5. Vulcan Shield + E
The skill i will use on shorcut
1. P. Def. defense purpose
2. Provoke lvl 10 (Spamming it every 4 sec? )
3. Defense and protection buff?
4. ?
I dunno if this build will work or not. This is the first time i build a tanker. That's why i need your ideas, sharing your experience. I use "Gatotkaca" as my nickname, at least i have a great tanker for playing this game. XD

Guardian generates more aggro then provoke. Use vit/hp% or im7% armor. Use agis and protection one at a time depending on the boss as they weaken each other.

 

Ty for reply, XDuskX. So, this build is possible? i know i have to make sure every hit so it will generate mp. i hope that will be the only drawback on this build.

 

Tank mages are possible. Check out egg's shield mage build and a support build. Your secondary weapon skills will mainly be from shield skill tree. Stats Int>Vit or Vit>int (if you are leaning more to tank rather then damage/tank). Make sure to get guardian and shield bash/cannon to aggro and stun the boss. Idk if shell break is a skill used by mage tanks but check the class discussion areas for build guides.

 

Yep. Im planning to get smash, bash and shellbreak from martial skills too. Ok. ty for the info

 

Without knuckles the stun rate of bash is very low. I'm guessing its to unlock shell break right?

 

Where's the mage-y part of this build? All I saw is a tank.

Personally I would say this build is very much possible it's actually extremely similar to what i have planned with some experienced players in my guild ^^

Only major change is mine has buffs and moves depending on whether I am playing tank or DPS

 

you want a mage tank build , Well you need couple of mandatory skills beforehand !
1.PERFECT DEFENSE 10 ! Trust me , this is your go-to when you dont wanna waste revita/bottles and its 1mp and reduces all dmg to 0 .. Z-E-R-O
2.Guardian 10 , The ultimate Aggro provider , Put it on a 1mp combo you desire and make it save , for example Shield Bash > Guardian save > Sanctuary Swift > Impact/Protection/Aegis swift / or any other 2mp swifts , spam this twice and aggro is all yours
3.Sanctuary 10 ! In the aoe , damage of anything from enemies will be reduce e.g. Physical , Magical and Tank's worst enemy fractional damage
4.Maximizer 10 ! You dont have time to wait for them dps small children to mp charge , with this , even in battle you can spam P.Defense and mp charge then maximizer and you're back in the game

Also If you cant afford Tank items , well for the lucky bastards who did the Xmas Event and get the Snowman Set (Arm +7k Hp , Head +3k Hp)
Staff use Priest Staff because atk speed +750 and use Vulcan Shield +250 aspd While you're at it to get around 1000 aspd

 

An alternative staff would be Vulcan staff NPC ver (thanks Mayam-sama). Gives good resistances or so i heard. Use G.spd pot for aspd

Ps sorry to burst the bubble but like, even the above stuff can be done with bg shield or 1h shield. Both have excellent ampr. The only thing good about maximiser its fast boi first aids. (Boy do i love them first aids at full deniala wipes lol)

 

try kronus alternative mage and then try to creative....if the build work...share it...im kinda need mage tank dps for solo/tank/dps ....

 

I thought I dont need to tell people that Tanks really need First aid 10 no matter what , its common sense for tanks to get one right ? or was I wrong?

 

Ur not wrong but maximizer simply heals faster. But other than that staff loses everything against shielded 1h, bg or knuck. Or u could time an amazing finale strikes, who knows?

 

Or even better you get a tank mage with first aid from star gems and abuse maximiser

I think it would be better to move storm (20 skill point) and shield mastery lv5 (5 sp) to get bless and enchanted bless(25 sp) for better survability.
I don't understand about the sneak attack, it's to hide aggro, isn't it?

 

At beginning, i made this build for solo purpose, and storm is very useful until i reach 127 (now). Mob leveling with Finale feel so time wasting. Im still dont unterstand about bless and how it works. That's why i dont use it. Tbh, i was thinking of guardian skill, but again, im lacking knowledge of how tanker/aggroer skill works. About sneak attack, i think i failed at it. Trying to put it as opener and still get chased by boss. unless i use arrow and make my char less defensive because of arrow staff. XD
So, for now i keep stick with this build until i decide to reset it to statter at lvl 150 ( im not using my personal stat yet).
