I am new player of Toram and even RPG-style game. So, I have no idea about how to use materials and how to stregthen the equipment. Help me please:(
I pick staff during the beginning (during the making avatar process) because it look cool with my avatar:oops:. But, the ATK is low, and I've got single-hand sword item drop(not sure when, just found it in my bag) with 26ATK. And, I changed to that. For now, that's the highest ATK for my weapon. For skills I've Magic skills and Balcksmith skill (I upgrade only Magic) since, I dunno wherther I'm going to use Blacksmith one.

    welcome =(^.^)=

Toram is pretty much old-school, which means you get equipment from monsters, rare drops from bosses, quest rewards and/or gather materials to get equipment at the Blacksmith.
"strengthening" gear is done by refining (at the blacksmith) and eventually you re-place your old gear with new stronger gear.
there are lots of different gears for all build variations, so if you found the right set for you, you can be sure to keep it a while.

items(materials) dropped by monsters can be either used directly for craft recipes or processed into material points.
if you need neither, you can sell them for money.

Thank you so much for that info (>_<). I basically come here because of Sword Art Online. Hence, I've a brief idea about the existence of monsters, bosses and drops items. But, may I ask you, for any tips on choosing the equipment and materials to be kept. I kept getting "your bag is full" messages and I once sell all sell-able items in my bag. And what is those materials points are for?

there are 9 different weapon types, once you've chosen your weapon, you only want to keep weapons of that type.
then you can go for an offensive or defensive play style, or something else entirely. weapons have different stats, so you only want to use those that benefit you the most.
the same goes for armors, hats and rings.
in addition to specific material items, crafting equipment and potions also require material points.
furniture and decoration for your house and land is also made mostly with material points.

Thank you ^^. I do have one in mind rn. I just started to do my stats build. And there is something call personal settings. May you tell me the attributes of each one. I am thinking about choosing Critical.

p/s: I'm sorry if my question sound stupid. But I'm really no good in making choice in building characters.

TEC (technique) increases your MaxMP by 1 for each point (2,5 mp bars at max), but that's not a reason to pick this stat :p
it's actual effect is to increases the success rates of production related actions such as equipment crafting, refining, synthesis, ect.
it is only needed for characters with a production job as their primary function.

LUK (luck) increases the drop rates of items from monsters.
it's a minor effect, 10.2 points raise the drop rate by 1%, so 25% at max. (that's half of Virgo's Book)
you can pick this stat if you have no use for the other choices.

CRT (critical) increases your critical hit rate.
your critical hit hit rate is 25% without this stat, and 3.4 points increase it by 1. (that would make your critical hit rate 100% at max)
the Critical Rate +X% stat found on equipment will become more effective with this stat, since the % is calculated from your base critical rate.

MNT (mental) increases your ailment resistance.
every 3.4 points increase it by 1%. (75% at max).
whenever you get a status ailment inflicted on you, you have (ailment resistance)% chance to negate that ailment.
Ailment Resistance can also be found on equipment, but the value cannot exceed 75%.

For crit 3.5 points gives you one crit RATE, not damage lol, but depending on your build, critical as stat is widely used as is useful. Luck is increasing your drop rate when farming. Mental is to make you less prone to being inflicted by interrupting attacks from boss. Tech is to increase success rates for crafting and refinement, blacksmith stuff

Helpful enough for someone like me :) Now I'm confused between CRT and TEC. Since, TEC will give more MaxMana. I guess, I'll do it later on. :D:confused:

May we know what class you picked as your first character? You can also try reading about different kinds of builds here in the forums and choose your preference. I was also a beginner a few months back and I chose a katana as my first character and leveled it up to lvl 112, I made the mistake of choosing CRT as my personal stat and put 94 points on it(this was before I found the forums) only to find out later on that katana users don't need that much CRT since a skill can already provide that, and in order to reset just my personal stat I would need 16 orbs to do it, which is VERY EXPENSIVE as orbs are RARE, in short all those hours and millions of exp I poured into that character was wasted:(, and in the end I just made a new one in a different slot.

That's exactly what make me scared to decide my characters build, unless I'm sure of it. I'm aware of the variety of builds making me not sure of my own preferences. I didn't know if we can level our weapon thougho_O.Thank you:)

I think you shouldn't choose blacksmith skill yet since you're still a beginner, so first we usually get a pure attack(dps) type of build to finish the main quest and level up as much as possible, because many places in the map require you to finish the main quest first before you can access it, and also you use that main character to defeat higher level monsters and get higher quality items and then sell some of them at the consignment board to earn spina, also in the beginning you can just go to the blacksmith in sofya and pay him to make you a decent staff(and armors and hats) for your mage, and it is usually only when you already have a high level main characer that you create a purely blacksmith character, they even also have different kinds of blacksmith depending on their specialties, I don't have a blacksmith character yet since I'm still trying to focus on leveling up my character to lvl 150(it's currently lvl127), and I spend several hours every day farming minotaur for his skin and trading them for antidegs at lefina which I then sell for 430k-475k per stack(99 piece), I then use that profit to buy nightmare crystals(from all those people shouting in sofya which you might have seen "S> NC 55k-60K/4 STKS" and currrently one of the best methods to max level a character is buying or farming nightmare crystals and doing Lefina's quest "Pride of the rich"(you need to be lvl 50 to unlock this)which gives you 300k experience per stack of NC, but I think buying them directly from sellers is more efficient since I earn spinas faster from farming mino skin and getting antidegs, 1 hour of farming mino skins can buy me 8 stacks of NC, while farming NC myself using my mage farmer character can only get me 3-4 stacks per hour, but in your case just finish the main quest first as much as possible, you will be lvl 112+ by the time you finish the latest update of the main quest, also don't worry if the boss is always beating you, that's normal, just go back to town(don't use the revive droplets, save them, unless the boss has a very small hp left)come back to that boss and set his difficulty to easy, his hp will then become 10 times lesser than the normal difficulty, it's also VERY helpful to add strong looking people as your friends so that you can hire them as mercenaries for FREE and they can accompany you in your main quest, so that if you die, that mercenary can still keep on going and you can still revive during the battle, there was this time while I was doing the main quest and I was fighting against this leaf dragon, I had a bowgun user as my mercenary and I just ran around and let the dragon chase me and my mercenary just kept shooting the dragon until she defeated it by herself LOL, but you can also enlist the help of the players around you, just shout in the chat "help mq" then someone will probably help you by adding you to their party(you need to disband your party with the mercenary or they can't invite you)
