Newbie Question about Refining

I was wondering what does refining really does and is it really help like on weapons thats +E does it add attack like lets say i have a lil empress katana thats basie ATK is 91 and its ATK is 70 and +E does that make a difference?

I see no explicit explanation about weapon refinement value to atk increase on that thread. Maybe there is a table on production class category?


Any way to put it shortly, it will increase your atk/matk value, the more you refine, the better it is. For armors, shield and additional gear, it will give you flat % of damage reduction, including fractionals

 

Its given right there in chapter 1

All formulae are given in those code segments. You need to take your time and understand the said formula.
The only thing that is remotely missing is mentioning that refine of weapon for more than 9 is given by
+E = +10,
+D = +11,
etc

 

Base attack has nothing to do with what you have, it's the weapons base if success crafting.
70 atk is the actual attack it has
sum up the final atk refined weapon gives is :
+0 = atk
+1 = atk*1.01+1
+2 = atk*1.04+2
+3 = atk*1.09+3
+4 = atk*1.16+4
+5 = atk*1.25+5
+6 = atk*1.36+6
+7 = atk*1.49+7
+8 = atk*1.64+8
+9 = atk*1.81+9
+E = atk*2.00+10
+D = atk*2.21+11
+C = atk*2.44+12
+B = atk*2.69+13
+A = atk*2.96+14
+S = atk*3.25+15

your katana gives you 70*2+10=150atk (not caulculate atk% yet)

 

That depend, since WATK% from equipment and skill affecting the WATK multiplier, at least if you learning weapon mastery you'll get extra 30 WATK% and if you using ornlarf you'll get extra 3 WATK% making it become atk*(0.33+3.25)+15 for +S refine
