Newbie questions.

Hi! I'm new with Toram and so far i really enjoy the game. I'm still exploring the game esp. with the weapons.
Currently I am playing Archer and a mage.

My archer is now lvl58 and I am now having a hard time with my story quest.
I was wondering how to improve my damage. I crafted Steel Leaf Bow but my damage is still low.
I put all my stat to DEX too.
So, my question is where should I get good bow for my archer and is it advisable to start with main DPS class? If no which class should I start playing first? Spina is a problem for me too.

 

Firstly, you can just do main quest boss in easy mode. Just retreat from the first fight and reenter choosing easy. Also, good mercenary help so much for this. Get some friend or search for guild mercenary. Don'tbpay for it. Best mercenary is ths, but test it so that it has decent attack speed. So many ths mercenary forgot to get their aspd up.
As for your weapon, i started as bow too and I found it as decent class for first character to grind to unlock tier 4. Snipe is good tier 3 skill which has utility to help other party member. Also, bow generally didn't need to reset skill to switch from tier 3 to tier 4 skill. As you hasn't unlocked tier 3 yet, use the mq to get to level 70. Don't level any shot skill to 10 other than snipe and bow mastery. When i started, I farmed up spina after finishing main quest to get better equipment. Search the class subforum for equips to aim for. Also, outdated equips can still be useful but much cheaper. My alt account still use 1.5 year old equip and still have good damage.
As an alternative, tank is easy to get party to level, but you will need to be good at it. Halberd is good at just leveling on regular monster by using dive impact. This is slower, but much easier especially if you can't party up with others.

There's a very excellent bow from yashiro azuki collab event called cone bow 3, you can also craft it from the npc blacksmith, but you might need to complete MQ first to access some of the higher level equipments for crafting.
If you want you can add me as a friend in game so you can use my merc to finish MQ easily, I have a 2h attacker merc with 11k+ atk, 10k+ hp and 1k~ aspd.

Everything is easier once you finish MQ first, including farming for spina, all the best spina farming methods needs high level and MQ completion, so first advice for newbies is always finish MQ first.

 

i heard the bow need level 170 to craft. So he will need to level up fast for it, which mean he need excellent equips first.....

Actually I am playing with a duo with MQ and we use mercenary for hire using spina but the damage of the Boss is too much for us D:
Only good damage skill I have is Rain Arrow which needs 3bars of my MP and after that it needs time for me to earn more MP for another rain arrow skill; doing MP recharge is risky as heck, my duo is using katana and his damage is not that good too. I'm out of Spina rn, to buy any potions. I used everything in our current MQ and i believe this one does not have any level like Easy, its Natiana part.. the Ogre boss.

 

Don't use spina hire merc. All boss has easy mode. Just retreat and re-enter. U can choose easy mode on the difficulty menu.
Also, get to level 70 for tier 3 skill. Use the combo system to help in mana department. I found just a good merc can finish the mq on easy boss without using any skill whatsoever although it will need a few try for some harder boss. I needed to do this for my tec character which didn't have enough skill points for battling skills.

 

Okay, how and where we can hire mercenary aside from that as that's the only option I can see in the party tab?

 

don't forget to equip an arrow.
until lv90, you get them from the blacksmith. after that, stronger arrows must be hunted from mobs and bosses.
some arrows are exclusive quest rewards.

refine your Bow, it increases your atk.

check the blacksmith regurlarly. new recipes unlock as your level increases.
however, just because a weapon is new or has slightly higher atk doesn't mean it's better than the old one.
stats are more important than weapon atk.

in order to collect items, you need a character that can fight by itself.
Arrow Rain is good for shooting many mobs at once. nothing wrong with your choices.

escape the battle, then go back to the boss. you can set the difficulty to easy in the menu.

If you like to party, don't be afraid to ask for help with MQ bosses, you'll often find good samaritans out there to give you a helping hand.

If you don't feel comfortable with partying with random people, I recommend:
Join a guild and/or add friends. You get the priviledge of hiring them for free.
Have your other character you created accompany you as Defender/Attacker, I often use them as tanks.
Get and train a pet to fill in the missing slot. I usually use them as fodder, but if properly trained they make excellent tanks or dps, and evem support. Lol i just like having a complete party.

Also... Is there any other way to get the photo material for Cone Bow? The lvl of the raid is too high for our level

 

You can buy pets at the consignment board
Or you can learn taming skill from the library. (You need pet cages to activate the skill)
Or if you have a land (unlocks at level 30 and is bought for 10k), strays usually show up there. If you feed them all the time they become your pet.

 

you must have unlocked "your land" to own pets.
then you can feed stray pets at your land, tame wild mobs with tamer skills (production) or buy them from others.

no. it is untradable.
but you can do the lv50 version to get Cone Bow I.

Unfortunately, that's the only way, you need to be on the same map to add friends in game.
