One-Handed Sword as DPS. What a joke, amirite?
As this is a simple guide and not a build, i'm not gonna post screenshots of all the 2s+s equipments and full skill/stat build. You've got enough brains to figure that one out for yourself (Not like i'm broke or can't post screenshots *cough*).
Without further talk, let's dive into it

    Stats
    255 DEX into STR or
    255 STR into DEX
Add VIT if needed, avoid CRT.
NEVER EVER PUT POINTS INTO INT OR AGI. WE'RE NOT PLAYING MD HERE.

    Skills
    Early Game
    :
Hard Hit - Keep at 5, obsolete late game due to most bosses countering flinch.
Astute - Good damage early game, ok-ish opener late game. Buff is obsolete due to either A.) you already have 100 crit rate or B.) you don't have 100 crit rate
HP and MP boost - Survival skills that helps you.. well.. survive. MP boost can be taken last if you have enough mana (varies from your definition of "enough")
Attack Up - Atk based on player level, would come online late game.
Sword Mastery - Increases weapon atk. Affected by weapon refinement value (I MIGHT BE WRONG HERE. 80%)
    Core Skills
    :
Impact - This one is a no brainer. Give me a DPS class that doesn't appreciate impact.
Rampage-Berserk - These 2 is the bread and butter of your mana regen. Enhances auto attack but be careful as the last hit can kill you as much as it can kill your enemy.
Shukuchi - Walking is overrated, helps you close gap between you and the enemy. Take value point, and do not replace with that skill on knight tree that we never talk about.
Critical Up - Extra crit rate and crit damage. Must have.
Meteor Breaker - Should be your main damage skill. Damage is lower compared to THS but if you're looking for THS guide, tough luck kid, wrong section.
War Cry - Simple attack boost, removes fear even though it is most likely cancelled by fear.

    Late Game:
Attack Up & Intimidating Power - Again, Atk based on player level. Both skills grants the same ammount of Atk.
Whack - Gimmick skill used to take screenshot of big numbers for those flashy-trashy youtube guides of 2m cf and stuff; you get the gist, max at your own risk.
Heal - Poor man revita, 3k+10% HP heal for 3 MP.
Sword Techniques - Increases sword skills damage. Boosts meteor damage.

    Situational:
Kairiki Ranshin & Recovery - AMPR Buff, burns like hell though. Apply Recovery on burnt area.
Godspeed Wield - More motion and attack speed for the cost of max mp and amplifying damage taken. Use at your own risk!
Buster Blade - Extra damage, heal, and 10% weapon attack.
Reflex - Good 1 mp combo opener.

    Luxury Skills:
*cough* Okay.. time for sub weapons. Take whatever sub you want, OHS is very flexible as in it can take a wide variety of sub weapons. Shields, Daggers, Arrows, SWORDS (Kirito intensifies).

Shield: Shield Bash, Guardian, Max MTL into VIT, close this thread, and be a tank. Screw off! (On a more serious note, Shield Bash and Shield Cannon are great skills to take, and probably are the only skills worth taking).
Shield Bash - Cheap melee range stun.
Shield Cannon - Slightly more costly ranged stun.
Force & Magical Shield - Increases DEF, MDEF, Phys and Magic resistance. Also extra hp that they don't mention if you max both out.
Protection & Aegis - Increases one type of resistance while decreasing the other. PLEASE DO NOT STACK THESE 2 TOGETHER.
    P. Defense - 1 MP damage null skill that lasts for less than a second while having a 3 seconds backswing and recovery animation. Restores 10% of max hp (Capped at 2k) if a hit is blocked by this ability. Will kill you more times than it saves you.

    Dagger:
Spike Dart - Inflicts slow, scales off DEX, and ok-ish damage.
Gatling Knife - Hella lot of damage, scales off of STR DEX and AGI.
Amazing Throw - Must have passive as a dagger sub, chance to double the hit count of all dagger skills.
Assassin Stab - Some more damage (As if we haven't had enough at this point), could land either Front, Side, or Back stab with increasing damage depending on your position.
Backstep - Evasive skill that doesn't throw you back as hard as reaper does, boosts Stab damage when used on an aoe marker.
Arcane Strike - Kiss your MP goodbye, and deals a hella lot of damage while increasing your AMPR. Aggro is reduced if you're not holding aggro and the aggro from the skill wouldn't take aggro.
Foresight - Lowers enemy HIT and increases Stab ability power.

    Arrow:
    Snipe???

Sword: *triggered kirito on the comment section*
Storm Reaper - Buffs short range damage until the next skill and gives invulnerability while jumping back
Shining Cross - Hella lot of damage, reduces its own cost if it crits, loses damage with range. Heals for a tiny bit.
Cross Parry - Decreases damage, buffs attack.
    Feel free to add more

    Knuckles: Rip dead class
Shell Break - Inflicts Armor Break. Recovers 400 MP if procs.
Chariot - Hella lot of damage
    Rush - Motion speed
Martial Discipline - Increases Knux skill damage.

    Equipments
    Main hand -
Any OHS with Attack%, Flat crit rate, Flat and % Crit damage.
Sub hand - Shield, Arrow, Dagger, or OHS of choice. Prioritize flat cr and any cdmg. For OHS sub only awakened element is counted in, any stat other than that is nullified.
Armor - Any armor with crit or stat%.
Additional - Preferably something with a lot of flat crit and/or cdmg%.
Ring - Anything that gives mp and doesn't reduce attack or stat. Machina ring is a good option too
Crysta - Everything that has attack%, flat crit, crit dmg%, HP, MP, and all the good stuff.

    Combos
Really? I need to put in combos? Fine... here are some examples of shitty combos
No Tag | Save | Consecutive | Smite | Swift
    1. Astute > Rampage > Berserk
    2. Impact > Meteor > Finale
    3. Reflex > Berserk > Decoy or
    4. Reflex > Kairiki > Decoy (Cast recovery before)
    5. Godspeed > Impact > Buster/Snipe/Other ranged damage skill > Finale
    6. Godspeed > Warcry > Quick Aura > Impact > Meteor > Finale
    7. Backstep > Ass Stab > Finale
You get it, really. Make your own combos, improvise, don't let me hold you back.

    FAQ
    • What is an OHS? OHS, or One Handed Sword, is THS' little brother that is often used by anime main character as their main weapon, which in reality is more often used as a sidearm. It's on the lower spectrum of average weapon attack, has mediocre attack gain from DEX and STR, and generally deals less damage than THS.
    • Is OHS a good weapon/class to play as? Yes and no. OHS makes a perfect candidate for a tank, and a poor choice for dps. While it's damage output at T4 is comparable to bows at T3, it's undeniably a fun class to play.
    • UwU IM A KIRITO FANBOI WHERE DW SECTION AT?!?!?!?!

Last but not least this is but a mere guide. I am also a human and not a god, and will undeniably make mistakes. So if you spot any mistake or would suggest corrections, please do as long as you stay civil and provide solid evidence. Peace out!

Sorry for the late reply since I've been busy recently, anyways it seems that I was high af and made a mistake at the time of writing that. Protection grants 30% Physical resistance and -15% Magic resistance at Lvl 10. Aegis grants 30% Magic resistance and -15% Physical resistance. If both are active at the same time, the negative resistance will decrease the positive and you will end up with 15% Physical and Magic resistance (I might be wrong with this)

Edit: also pls don't report I'm just a poor guy tryina make a living >.<

Haha anyways yea that's what I was confused about. I knew stacking them together at lvl10 would give 15% phy/mag resist but the way you wrote it made me think there must be some other negative effect I didn't know about. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Ok you can make a few additions since I myself is doing a ohs build that’s more different than anything u have there...
Mini halb : flash stab, deadly spear, strike stab and punish ray
Also with md you have the entire magic swordsman skill tree at your disposal which opens even more options in the entire magic skill tree such as maximize and magic burst.

Truly ohs is very versatile to take advantage of all skill trees with benefits excluding katana since I don’t think ohs can have a katana sup(unfortunately).

Hello, and sorry for the late reply. Although i find your suggestion to be interesting concepts, i do have to mention i try to keep my contents viable, as in you can actually handle enemies coming your way.
First of all, yes, i am aware that some halberd skills are indeed compatible with OHS. But, it comes with some pretty hefty penalties. Not to mention the damage dealing skills from halberd tree are, well, halberd-exclusive.
Second of all, i'm really sorry to call this out but magic swordsman is garbage. It is a popular concept, yes, but it still sucks. OHS inherently has a MATK penalty when subbed with MD, and magic swordsman passive doesn't even negate the penalty (and let's not talk about the 20-ish flat matk bonus). Magic can crit, yes, but the requirements are pretty hard to achieve if not downright impossible. And even then, the downside of being a magic swordsman itself outweighs the benefit.
