[ONGOING TEST] Hybrid Mage + Shot Skills

    So I had some "shower thoughts". Everyone and their moms are using 1MP Combos now, except for mages. And ask myself why. The answer is that magic skills have terribly long cast times, so it's unwise to make long combos with it.
    Update: Currently Lv58
    Stats: Full Int
    Important Skills:
    Magic
    Impact 7
    Storm 10
    MP Charge 10
    Shot
    Power Shot 5
    Moeba Shot 5
    Paralysing Shot 1
    Sneak Attack 10

    Equips
    MoD or player-crafted / 100mp
    Arrow Sub
    Oracle Robe or player-crafted / 100mp or Roga
    Nun Hat / Seltiro
    Magic Talisman II or Spy Talisman / 100mp

    My Current Combo:
    Moeba > Sneak(Save) > Para(Consec) > Impact(Consec) > Storm(Smite) > Power(Swift)

    Notes:
    I'm still confused with Sneak's mechanics, but so far, I got a little bit worse aggro than a standard mage, but substantially lower than a non-sneak Infinite Sniper.
    At level 58, I'm hitting around 1800 - 3300 Storm on Roga.

    Last month I tried this Storm Sniper:

    Eq:
    MoD
    Ice Arrow
    O. Garb
    C. Ears
    Dex. Talis

    Main skills:
    Impact Lv7
    Storm Lv10
    Snipe Lv10

    Combo:
    Moeba > Impact (save) > Snipe (smite) > Storm (consec)

    Stat:
    INT 3:1 DEX ratio

    Didn't work for me and deleted it, made room for a chemmy.

    1. shot skill is a physical atk and damage is generated from your ATK. (fortunately 1 int still give ATK growth)
    2. you will suffer motion speed penalty for several shot skills!! which is very very very annoying!! (e.g : power shoot, bulls eye )

    Sneak on a non-Bow/Bowgun @ Lv1 costs 400mp btw. You are using up Bullseye's Saved MP with Sneak in your combo.

    Honestly, I have no experience with Shot Skills. I just thought that since Save Combos generate disgusting amount of aggro, it would be good to put Sneak somewhere in it.

    I didn't include any melee skills because I'm not comfortable sitting beside bosses like Roga and GK.
    The idea is not to deal mixed damage but to cast 100MP Smited Storm, similar to NineArts' Int Brawler but long-ranged, with Sneak to avoid aggro.
    I have no first hand knowledge on what Shot Skills are good as combo fillers though. So feel free to suggest.

    @chalkie-kun , this build may work (they say magic storm has low aggro rate), here's my input:

    Combo #1 (0% Save Penalty, max damage potential 325%):
    Moeba Shot ~> Smoke Dust (Save) ~> Sonic Wave ~> Bullseye (Cons) ~> Paralyse Shot (Cons) ~> Magic Storm (Smite) ~> Hard Hit / Knife Throw

    Combo #2 (20% Save Penalty, max damage potential 305%):
    Moeba Shot ~> Smoke Dust (Save) ~> Sonic Wave (Swift) ~> Paralyse Shot (Cons) ~> Magic Storm (Smite) ~> Sneak Attack (Cons)
    on this combo, if you don't have Aggro, then, Sneak will never activate ​

    Sonic Wave Skill Data (if knuckles not equipped to main or sub):
    Lv.4: 8m
    Lv.7: 12m
    Lv.10: 16m​


    and yes, this concept is similar to my incoming Int Brawler, but close ranged ;)

    regardless of level it's 2 meters, same with Shell Break -- difference is that on Bash it walks towards the target.
    without knucks you won't have the default +25% stun probability

    With the 5 new SP I was planning on adding Bash to my mana saver combo:
    Moeba > Impact (save) > Snipe (smite) > Bash (consec)
    It would be really cool to Slow > Tumble > Hit > Stun.
    But now that I know it force-walks to the target I'm doubting if I better go for Sonic Lv1 even if I don't think it's tumble effect will work due to being so close to the Impact's.

    The 2nd combo looks good. I just hope it doesn't get aggro before Storm :confused: (On my exp as a Tank Brawler ,1 > 4 > 1 > 3 is high enough to steal aggro from anyone)

    The thought first came when I was in Roga and this random mage kept stealing aggro from me, and I was like "WTH is going on?". Then keeps on dying after 4-5 Storms. "Was he using Save combo? Nah that can't be, cast times are too long for spam"
    Now that I think of it, maybe he was spamming Sonic > Impact(save) > Storm > ??

    or try to equip Spy Talisman, -25% Aggro

    hmm, i think it doesn't force walk, let me test it later to reconfirm.

    well. its a good idea to begin with.
    by being long ranged fighter that can deal decent damage from far away and untouchable, your main DPS skill must be a smited storm.
    moeba, para, smoke dust is good for you due to its insta cast and damage drop off ritual ^^.
    Dont forget that storm is the most effective when the enemy is stayed still. All of ur hit is dealt to it(6 hit). short range fighting will gives you advantage for this situation.
    however fighting in long range .. its diff thing, u will have disadvantages especially for storm caster (remember fighting arco or roga).not all your storm hits. boss will just run towards into aggro holder.
    honestly i dont have any combo suggestion yet atm. (im thinking about moeba wall storm and stay safe ~ 7-8m from boss) sry. i did some simulations in my head. its just seems incorrect and unpractical. ._. however what i can say is this long range build will be useful for roga and arco similar boss alike.
    i would love to see if this build become a trend in the future ^^

    I'd go bash after tempest. :cool: Also, 1hsword+Knuckles so there's higher chance to stun.

    isnt equipping mdev as sub inc the dmg of magic skill or its effectiveness or whatsoever? since our focus here is smited storm.
    idk, tho, im not rly a technical person.

    MD only enlarges the AoE of magic skills. And ofc, faster MP charge compared to non-mage weapons. The only skill that MD aids in damage is Impact(also inc tumble rate). It also removes the penalty of Power Wave to non-mage weapons, but I doubt that his build cares about normal attack damage.
