    As a tank, have you experienced the boredom of tanking where your only job is getting the aggro, P.def all the attacks, staying still, and interrupting while doing no damage? Wouldn't it be nice if you could also do a little bit of damage on your own to make the boss battle even faster?
    Have you ever experienced partying with overly competitive DPS players who ignores breaking the boss' parts? And wish that you also have damage so you could do some breaking on your own?
    Have you ever experienced the frustration of doing a super-high difficulty boss battle or even a gem run where all your dps party members have unfortunately fallen from the stage or dc'ed, leaving you alone with the boss, and having no choice but to run away since you can't do any damage? Wouldn't it be nice if you could also have the ability to solo the boss by yourself so all your efforts won't be wasted?
    Wouldn't it be nice to be able to solo the boss MQ on your own without relying on other dps players or mercs?


    I myself experienced all of the above, which is why I made this build. With this build I can:
    1. Do some damage while doing the usual roles of tanking(aggro, surviving, interrupting) at the same time, while also having 100% ailment resistance. Thereby making the boss run/farm be faster compared to a traditional tank that does 0 1 0 1 damage.
    2. Help with breaking parts or do the breaking by myself, letting the dps to focus more on dealing damage and surviving.
    3. Be able to solo bosses in case $h!t hits the fan and all your pt members either fell from the stage or disconnected for a long time.
    These are my stats without any buffs:

    Proto Clarity Rose+S(70% physical pierce, 140% crit rate(+35 flat critical rate))> Evil magic sword(5 crt damage, +5 ampr, 10% aggro) + Mardula(7% atk, +4 ampr, 14% anticipate)
    Dark general shield +B 30% aggro and some dark resistance
    *Good alternative shield for more survivability in case you got lvl 10 provoke: Imperial shield for 20% magic resistance
    Curious dress +C(+1,000 mp, 10% ailment resistance, 100% crit rate(+25 flat crit rate), 1% crit damage >Ornlarf(+3,000 hp and some weapon atk%~)
    Sakura Fan Hair clip+C(20% ailment resistance, +10 flat crit rate)>
    Zoe(+9 ampr, +3 crit damage, 6% fire resistance)
    Aromatic Bangle(30% aggro, 10% natural hp and mp regen)>seele zauga(5% physical and magic resist, +15 crit rate, -10% item cooldown time)+tapir(+10 ampr)
    MTL: 167 mtl= 49%+curious dress(10%)+sakura fan hair clip(20%)+avatar stats(21%)=100% ailment resistance
    Critical rate: Base crit rate +25 + proto clarity 140%(+35)+curious dress 100%(+25)+sakura fan hair clip +10 +seele zauga +15=110 critical rate
    As you can see, I don't need berserk to reach 100 crit rate



    Different bosses have different attacking patterns, requiring you to change your combos and playstyle to be suitable to and to counter a specific enemy's attacking pattern or characteristics(like ailment sensitivity), but my principle is to always use short combos, whether it's as dps or tank, but especially for tank as we need to minimize our moments of being a "sitting duck" while we wait for our combo to finish. So other than the combo: hard hit(or any 1mp opener skill)>meteor breaker(save)>guardian(swift) for fast casting guardian, and astute>rampage(save)>finale(smite) for rampage buff, I usually just manually cast the other skills, including decoy(or I also use smash/reflex>trigger slash(save)>decoy(cons) for a 1mp decoy combo in case the boss like to move around a lot and I want to save some mp). I also like to spam meteor breaker without a combo a lot to get 2 seconds invincibility while at the same time dealing damage and getting aggro, this is my main dps skill AND survival skill other than P.def and elegant poise. the 6mp cost is manageable if I have rampage buff, and I can spam it every 4 seconds without running out of mp if decoy shot is active

    Blade skills: Hard hit(5), astute(5), trigger slash(5) rampage(10) meteor breaker(10)sword master(10), quick slash(5), sword techniques(10), warcry(10) < Meteor is main dps skill, rampage for ampr.
    Shot skills: shot mastery(5), long range(5), quick draw(5), decoy shot(10) < decoy shot for ampr
    Magic: Arrows(5), javelin(5), lances(5), impact(7), finale(1) < Impact is important for inflicting tumble ailment, and finale for a useful combo stopper
    Survival: safe rest(5), hp boost(10) <to increase hp
    Shield: shield mastery(5)(I have shield mastery stargem lvl 10), shield bash(10), force shield(10), magical shield(10), protection(10), aegis(10), guardian(10) < I usually just cast aegis since most attacks are magic anyway, but protection is also important for those bosses that use a lot of physical attacks, guardian is one of the most important tank skills as it reduces aggro for other pt members, increases your aggro, enhances everyone's ampr, and boosts everyone's defense, a must have skill for tank
    Knight skills: assault atk(5), parry(5), Perfect Defense(20) < Perfect defense is one of the most important tank skills alongside guardian, it nullifies all damage to 0 and increase your aggro by 500 points for each successful block.
    Mononofu skills: Bushido(5), shukuchi(1), two handed(5), meikyo(5), kairiki(1) < Now, you might ask, why did I spend 11 skill points just to get kairiki lvl 1? The answer is using kariki's self ignite ailment to forcefully cancel rampage's last 3 final hits, rampage's last 3 final hits locks you in place for 2-3 seconds, like a sitting duck, without being able to do anything, this has been the cause of countless 1h or 2h character deaths since they can't dodge or defend against a lethal attack while they're locked in the slow motion of rampage's 3 final hits, and my solution is by using kariki to forcefully give oneself an ailment and thereby cancel rampage's final hits, after I've judged I'm about to reach the end of rampage's buff. shukuchi is used for closing in beside the boss fast.
    Dancer sklls: elegant poise(10), nature's wonders(20) < imo, Elegant poise is a must have skill for any char that can use it, it can reduce the 1st attack's damage dealt to you by 50% at lvl 10 and can give a maximum of 4 seconds worth of invincibility if you time it right like P.def, very useful for defending against consecutively fast and strong attacks like boss combos, lasers beams, etc. It can also help you survive lethal damage in case the 1st hit kills you and gives you 1hp, similar to magadachi. Nature's wonders is pretty decent for healing as well as taking care of mobs.
    Vita plus 3, Magiadd 3, ginko nut rice, giga speed potion, power candy, etc.
    Food buffs: Hp+3200, mp+580, ampr+18, weapon atk +58, atk+58 or magic resist

    As you can see, I'm relying on Proto clarity rose and curious dress for this build, both of which are event limited items, and so only a few players are able to follow this build, not to mention 21% ailment resistance from avatar, which is difficult to get. I also rely heavily on buff items to increase my resistance, and they are expensive. Hopefully the devs reintroduce felien atleast so people who lost proto from the rollback can have a chance to get it again ;_;

    I know what you're thinking, at this point after looking at my equips you would know I have way less hp than a pure tank would have as well as no resistance whatsoever, with the exception of 100% ailment resistance, which means this build can't really absorb some strong attacks from certain bosses. THIS BUILD IS SUPPOSED TO P.DEF, METEOR, AND ELEGANT POISE ALL THE DANGEROUS ATTACKS AND NEVER GET CAUGHT OFF GUARD BY ANY OF THEM, which is only possible if one has thoroughly memorized a boss' attack patterns that one can tank it with his/her eyes closed.

    I AM NOT SAYING THIS BUILD IS BETTER THAN A PURE MTL>VIT TANK, this build is NOT a safe tank build especially if you're tanking ulti difficulty bosses on gemruns and some super high difficulty event bosses, I have another separate mtl>vit bowgun pure tank for that, and I will only use this build once I have thoroughly memorized the boss' each and every attack patterns and can P.def/meteor everything. The reason I made this build is because most bosses nowadays are very boring for tanks, in case you don't know, tank is the easiest class in the game, because surviving using P.def, getting aggro, and interrupting is very easy, which also makes tanking VERY BORING, and so this build is only for pro tank players who are bored of normal tanking and is supposed to give more thrills in tanking again, because now you can also break and help deal damage while trying to survive at the same time, and if you miss your timing and/or skills are off, you could also die. #MakeTankingFunAgain

    P.S.
    I might make mistakes in some skills or combo details and maybe there could be a better tactic and/or strategy for this kind of build. I welcome any kind of constructive criticisms and ideas which could make probably make this build better, as I might also make some changes later on, especially after they do the major skill rebalance regarding magic and decoy in the future.

    If possible could i see it in action in a video possibly, like i think its a good concept but needs more work tbh but i'm curious to how hard it can hit so would like to see some numbers also to see how much damage you normally take from basic attacks and magic attacks.

    Not sure if I could provide a video, never tried it before lol, also regarding the damage it can deal and the damage it takes, as you can see I'm prioritizing ampr xtals over everything else so I can spam meteor, p.def and other survival skills, and there isn't much atk%, cdmg% on my equipment, damage isn't a priority, this build is first and foremost, a TANK, the dps is only "semi-dps", enough to break parts on it's own, and enough to solo the boss, the most I can get from meteor breaker is around 150k~ on high def bosses, but the damage usually fluctuates from 50k to 100k(this is on ornlarf ulti), this is still waay better than pure tanks that only deals 1 0 1 0 damage, as in 3 minute boss run if I manage to do 10 meteors I would have already contributed around 1m in damage. Also as you can see from my equips also, I don't have any magic and physical resistance except the 10% magic and physical resistance from shield passive skills, as well as the 10% dark resistance from shield, the rest I rely on ginko nut rice, and some cakes to get the resistance, in short if I get careless with my P.def/meteor/elegant poise and let myself get hit I would get roughly the same damage as a dps player would. But like I said I plan to P.def/meteor/elegant poise all the dangerous attacks coming at me, so regardless of how much damage I take if I dont get hit then it's a non issue

    I've been tried something like this at p.ava and empress hell but without proto.
    It's harder to tank and only deal around 300-1000 damage with rampage.
    my meteor can hit 30k if fully prorate at empress.

    You have a point, I also have lvl 10 provoke stargem, so I guess I won't be needing dark general shield's aggro% that much lol, as for berserk, I'll try to do some more tests on it to see if I can get more used to the fact that it prevents rampage from getting canceled by ailments(kairiki's ignite) lol.

    Well another big point about berser is the 25 crit rate u gona get without needed of spam astu, crit resis bosses gona be a joke,i dont like kaikiri buff is short very short for non katana users and wtf it burn u making lost time doin recovery or wasting item making u 10secs colddown for use a item again. Swordmans have rampage that is op compared with kairiki.

    Well I already have 110 crit rate so I won't be needing berserk most of the time, also no I don't even use recovery, like I said the only reason I got kairiki was to disable rampage's final 3 hits which makes one a sitting duck without being able to P.def or dodge aoes, also I only lvled kairiki to lvl 1 so the ignite will only last 5 secs, and because I have seele xtal I can use healing items every 9 secs. I've also mentioned that I aim to P.def/meteor/elegant poise all the dangerous attacks, which means I can simply ignore the 5 secs worth of ignite that kairiki gives.
