Pet Attack & skill, how do it work?

So I have a pet that using a staff, but the type are physical defence & the nature are agile, I've already acquire the rage sword skill, and I already turn the skill on, but the pet didn't even use his skill or even attacking, does the different of the weapon and type affect his attack & skill?

 

Skill+weapon only affect the damage output of pets since pet only use ether physica or magic. Most skills specify which of the two is used. For your skill, it use the atk stat and not the matk stat value. There are also special kind of skill like rage attack(attack that generate aggro) and stealth attack(attack with no aggro) that rely on which of the 2 stat is more dominant than the other(if atk is higher than matk, that value will be used by the skill)
Other than that there is also the attack pattern of pets. You may notice that sometimes you see a blue arrow down or red arrow up. That signify the compatability of the skill to the pet.
Pets have a 1k mana pool, you must do a little mental math and remind yourself how often you need to cast pet mp charge skill.

 

My pet didnt use all of his skill at all , it has more physical attack on it , and my pet didn't use his Rage attack skill.

 

It is hard for a pet to use all its skill at one attack cycle. As i said, pets only have 1k mp pool. Each active skills and buffs cost mp to cast. Ever try spamming pet mp charge? It may be just the pet is out of mp that is why it retorted back to just doing auto attacks.

 

Pets that do not have high "Affinity" (Usually newer pets that have not been fed much) cannot use skills at all until they have their affinity increased. Affinity can only be increased by feeding.
