Can magic auto attack miss like physical can?
Also if one has a bow pet with breaker skills, would it be a better option to use magic auto attack over physical if one is not concerned with pets damage?

depending on the attack pattern, yes.
(if there's a blue arrow down)
    for ampr and aggro, yes.

And is a faster pattern generally better for both of these? I see hints of this being the case form a few posts I've read, but I wasn't certain.

Yes, and it work even better at devoted(for aggro) and justice(ampr) natures. Of course lower the normal attack pattern takes less priority over higher pattern skills. Hence you see pets spamming those 1mp skills instead of the usual cycle of normal attack+skill+normal attack.

Thank you very much! I've seen this with some other pets, but I'm finding using certain combos of magic and/or physical normal and skill attacks will prevent the pet from doing either or will make it attack very very slow. I know their atk speed is low but I'm talking not even hitting a mob once sometimes. Anyway, these newer event mobs seem to have this issue.

Edit - Never mind! I understand why they're doing this now and it's due to the priority thing you mentioned above!!!

Edit 2 - Hmm yeah, when I use physical only pets everything goes so smooth. If they have enough MP they'll use their skills, if not they'll being to auto attack, whereas pets with magic auto whether set to physical or magic tend to become wonky and sometimes even stop using both their auto and skills altogether. Like I mentioned in above, this has been an issue with other pets before as well and is unfortunate.

Edit 3 - I've concluded that some pets with magic auto attack were not developed correctly. For example, Rem Potum (blue) along with some other non event pets will not perform physical skills even if their mana has been filled to 100%. It all seems to be random and they can stop working whether physical or magic auto is enabled. With physical only pets such as Perro, they will cast their skill as soon as they have enough mana each and every time.

Edit 4 (lol) - Okay I think it may have to do with the magic auto being ranged even if a non ranged melee weapon is equipped. I was testing with pet flinch and stun with a ohs using magic auto. Anyway, they would not always cast the skill if I filled their mana as noted above, however they are still sometimes charged for using the skill due to the mob dying right before they cast it. Needless to say I tested the same thing using a bow and all problems are now resolved xD
