Try using stone. Dont expect to dish out much damage but it shure attack often enuf to generate its own ampr. Pets usually cycle their attacks like this
Normal attack-skill 1-normal attack-skill 2-normal attack-and so on until it runs out of mp, it do cycle skills.

I don't think pet appearances dictate atk rates tho...
But even so, I really don't want a Stone as a pet
Thing is, the Newt, the Cassy, and this Skeleton now, their pattern is: Skill - wait - Skill - wait - Skill
Although this Devoted skeleton is using skills more readily than the other failed ones, just not normal attacking.

Here's what I'm trying to build:
An undead looking pet with high defenses and hp, generates high aggro, and can heal well using Absorb HP

I've got no data with regards to that, pets are super hard to test consistently due to there being so many factors in play to keep track of. Some of the data on this chart was data mined by @XIIIthguy, some is from Cruithne on Coryn.club, and some is from @HaruChan

I can try and find an enthusiastic pet but I won't be able to help with reliable results for a few days at least

Is the 15% atk/matk from a sturdy nature calculated as +15%, -15%, or x15%? I was assuming it was x15% to make the pet weak offensively and entirely defense-focused but wanted to confirm.

The info in this thread is mostly set in stone. Good thing that there is not much players who just ask without looking first, so remaking this thread to ask the same question is rare. (Well, just here in pet section that is)

I should probably update this chart seeing as it actually still has merit. I'll get to it tonight.

By the way, the solid answer to if pets can crit: Y E S
They have the same critical system as we do. Base 25 critical rate

Well, critboost pet buff+nature and nature bonus+ bg and dex over stat and level+ mochelo max attack pattern, also player aura buffs do apply on pets to boot. We have a rough ball park of finale damage being dropped by a pet(roughly the 10k pet damage before the "bug fix" happened)

    ......
Me thinks, i be making a full support char or wait it out a bit after the new skill sub class minstrel comes out. The possibility of making a monstrosity is thrilling! (Kudos Frankenstein!)

Apparently, my devoted doggo does not stay on my side when i went down and continued battling the masked warrior. I can also confirm the 300 aggro auto attack of devoted pets as i test it out with various mercs with diffrent attack speed.

My total review of the nature is MINDBLOWN! PERFECT FINALE PET FOUND! With coryn staff and/or smart use of sneak attack, this is the perfect partner. Support mages need pet that have a level 10 rage attack pet skill to cover the aggro of buffs (including sneak) doggo got no magic based magic attack so missed and aggro chaos will be apparent in higher levels with high dodge rate bosses(nm and ulti modes)

Can confirm devoted pets are immune to spikes, yet no idea why they also try to avoid those things. How pointless... o_O That behavior is quite annoying sometimes.

Well it TRIES. First, the pet runs to you, then after a few steps the little fella remembers his mission so turn back to hit the boss. But he still worries about you :(, so he tries to run to you again, and then back to the boss, then you again. He'll keep juggling like that until he finally gets close to you at a certain distance, it takes a while.

And to be honest, if you use coryn staff for finale, devoted + rage attack is not even needed. Most of natures with decent level rage attack will do the job well.

Well, i guess i need to get knocked out more often to test it out lol.

You are right too any nature with decent level of rage attack does the job. But the devoted nature grabs aggro way faster than any nature. Maybe even better if pets are magic based autos. (The 25% chance to miss in first hit dissapears!). Im using coryn staff to speed drop finale (basically pet grinding) most of the time i use potum staff+nega aggro gear(since finale, impact & pet heal is all i use anyway lol). I havent tried devoted pets with buffs tho(since doggo suck at it, but interrups a plenty!), i guess more test or better yet code digger's confirmation is needed.

Observing pet behavior is like watching animal planet with less blood and gore.

All the current information on this chart is the only code available for pets right now. Ayam, XIIIthguy and I did a lot of mining to find the nature bonuses but the rest of em are server sided. I will update later when I am at my pc
