Pets 102/Basic Vampire tank pet build

Also, (swifted )Lvl 10 powershot (i.e. 100% tumble) is also nice to use if you are a bow summoner in order to give the pet some breathing room to drop its big load too

 

I was thinking along those lines too, if only i have time to spare imma rework my pokemon build to a spam debuffer char that spit ailments non stop. Altho im still conflicted to ditching dex in favor of some crit and vit(need endurance in catching pets, skill need to hit like a tank to debuff lol)

 

How long does it take to get your pet from lvl 1 to 80?
Any tips on how to raise the skill lvl. Mine is stuck at 4.

 

I usually do v fast Mino runs (progressing through different difficulties) from 1-55, to farm skins at the same time, and then scrader (fb/norm/25s) from 55-90. Still takes a while though, especially if it doesn't have got exp+50% food buff. Pet needs to land a hit (unless gentle) AND be alive by end of boss fight to get the exp. I think I could reach 80 in maybe 4-6 hrs (if i play non-stop), with a fast boss farm setup.
For skill, again if its not gentle, pet needs to hit mob to get skill exp. I usually find a good place to 1hko many easy mobs (i.e. pova) while also farming items/mats to level it up (FYI 1 storm cast only registers as one 'hit' for pet's skill exp so manual autos will be faster). It will take you a while to cap skill level though, so needs a mountain of commitment/patience...

 

Is the passive skill bug of gentle pets still on? I mean grinding the skill takes forever

I'm trying to grind my magic lance too, (from lvl 5) its level 8.51 now. I estimate around another 16,000 targetted mob kills til skill cap...

 

It have been long fixed. The same time they fix the 10k pet. Back then gentle pets get exp on all target that have aggro-ed by master. Now, only the targeted mob can the gentle get an exp.(i abuse this bug by killing skele in 2 storm ticks. Aggro is the key back then)

 

Bah shame. Im counting my kills per “fresh” domination. 100 targeted 1HKO kills = almost 1% skill exp. Its a real tough grind now

 

Indeed it wash a shame, i could only regret that i only have one max level magic lance.(mentioned on how i built my pet.) But i now have to contend for my doggo to be a solid tank as any pet can be(new target skill legacy "cover")

 

Yeah theres plenty of cost effective high cap fodder options on the market right now. Totally having a few lined up for later fusing

 

I was planning for a vit-int in the next step of my pet with magic attack type and sturdy nature. Of course, hp absorb as 2nd skill for a vampire pet. It may lower the damage output, then again, stone is well known for skill spamming aggro machine. Best next step is to mold it towards survivability since it have served its purpose as my dps/tank that carried me to level 150 solo.

 

How about a pure auto attack pet? Is it feasible?

 

That would be the most stupid thing to make your pet out of. The very least give the poor guy "rage attack"(1mp aggro skill of pets). Pets without skills is more useless than mercs that miss. At least with rage attack, it can generate its own mp and use it without high maintenance(you may still need to heal it tho). You can test it out by turning all of the pet's skills off and judge it by your self, it will only do auto attacks.

 

I see... My pet rarely uses skills even if I set it to the highest usage/frequency. Does ut mean he does not have any MP? Nice nama Xiabu

 

You must understand every pet got a 1k mp tank(unless your pet have mp boost). If your pet have magic lance wich is an 800mp skill, you need to cast pet mp charge so yoir pet can cast magic lance again. If you have rage attack that is a 100mp skill, your pet will do auto and skills in intervals until the mp is used up.
Pets dont have an mp bar so you need to do a little mind math in the middle of combat.

 

Thanks, I must have been typing half asleep. That means I can either choose frequent low damage rage attack or seldom high damage Javelin. Is there a guide to pet skills like the one 13th has? Where there are skill multipliers and constants.

The sister site of this forum is as close as a bible to anyone playing toram. If you are a bit lost, just wander around the sister site instead of digging up necro threads here others would not be pissed off. Altho our pet section is a bit uniqe on its own. Since pet system is a huge time sink comparable to an abbys and overall analisys makes a trip to purgatory simply a walk in a park.(it took 19 months just for the friggin "basic" info)

 

Wow, the effort you put into the pet system is incredible. It's now a choice between stealth or rage attack for me.
Few more things.
1. Is the pet's AMPR similar to the player?
2. Which pet app has the highest attack speed?

1.hard to tell on ampr of pet. I dont have any means to calculate nor monitor that part.(im no coding geek! Lol)
Stone is the best spammer atm. The lowest attack pattern is the selling point of highest speed.

 

I start to interest about pet system but still confused my concern is to make tank pet so i can do solo bossing when nobody there

1. Is Pet better than mercenary? I know pet can take aggro more than mercenary because can use skill, but pet hp is so little if compare with mercenary
2. Im still confused about the best type for tank, devoted or sturdy? I’ve read if devoted can generated aggro more but some people says sturdy is better because it can evade some attacks.. and how much the different about phys def and magic def survivability?
3. Which one is better, lv 150 pet without fusion or lv 100 pet fusion so many times? How much the difference the status if fused pet or not? Just assume the pet type all the same
4. About the pet skill, how to get more skill? Because i think if train my main pet to learn skill it will waste some of vit points because its affect % discipline?
