Phantom Slash comment & ideas

Hmm.... this skill is not ok.... this just like Rampage but less mp and "Slash a target with a lightning speed. Nullify enemies' attacks while using this skill. Chance to inflict instant death on weak monsters" (thanks Precaria)

That's this skill problem... if "weak monsters" are mobs, so.... toram will have a "weak monsters" that can survive the skill until the end and die by instant death? Now i don't know "Chance to inflict instant death on weak monsters" is really neccessary....
My idea are
... maybe it will cause "Chance to inflict instant death on weak monsters" if that monster's hp has 10% left and stop the skill
... and maybe with Mini Bosses also have a chance to deal n% max hp of its

These are my comment and idea about this "need lvl 90 to unlock" skill.

To get good damage out of it, it has to be smited like 500mp combo.I tried consec and save but dmg is low. Hope someone can come up with good combo with lesser mp. Not sure if impact phantom will work. Hope someone can test it .

 

Phantom slash inflicts a status called Freeze. We've seen that icon when Ooze did the dash move, or DG / Empress does that Water elemental spell. The fact that we haven't seen a post "WTF, how did I die" probably implies that the chance of that instant death is really low. But how it works is, when target is inflicted with the Freeze status, any attack that the target receives when Freeze is active, there is a chance that target will be killed instantly.

I haven't tested it yet, but an idea that came to mind was using Spinning slash after Phantom slash, followed by an auto attack, you will have 23 chances to cause instant death. However, now that they have limited the effect to small montes only, meaning bosses and mini-bosses are likely immune.

As to whether the skill is designed to NOT being able to kill a weak monster so it will be left alive for the instant death chance, I don't think so. It's more of an added effect IF the monster managed to somehow survive the move.

 

Good combo would maby be astute shadow step save hh consec phamtom strike smite twin slash consec, makes phantom strike 110% power leaving shadow step at 4mp tho

I'm also happy to hear that Shadow slash adds Crit chance, so that might be the better way to go.

I'll have to try it out tonight before any kind of conclusion can be drawn.

At this point, @Cypherian will be the best source of info as he tried it already.

He is using Shadow slash for the AMPR rather than the Crit buff, which I hope he can shed some light on how good the AMPR buff is, say compared to Trigger slash.

 

You guys may want to try Astute>Shadow Step Lvl1 Save>Trigger Slash Lvl6 Consec>Phantom Strike Smite>HH or Twin Slash Consec or rampage smite (make sure you have less 1k mana if you use rampage smite)
-1 MP Combo
-Motion Speed Buff Quickens the Animation of your Phantom Strike (Normal Animation of phantom strike is 4secs)
-110% Phantom Strike (10% Dmge Boost)

IF im not mistaken Lvl1 Shadow Step Cost 400 MP and MAX Phantom Strike is 400MP

 

i use a same combo except rampage smite at the end instead of hh/twin slash

 

and its 90% phantom strike dmg cos
-80% save then -60% save -40% save ---> -40% is where ur phantom is so it nets 60% dmg +smite = 60%x1.5 from smite multiplier = 90% skill dmg

 

ic but that requires specific mana pool
if im not mistaken your mp might be below 590 makes you spam your combo 5x only. (idk if its enough to kill a boss but if it works for you that's cool )

 

no smiting rampage at the end allows you to get max mana pool <1100 mp
cos smited rampa is 1k mp which wouldnt activate....
so ur safe with a 1k mp bar + quickdraw if u want to spam or smthng

 

Shadow Step -80% > Trigger Slash -60% > Phantom -40% (Regular Cast 100% +50% from smite total of 150% - 40% from save debuff = 110%)

 

oh yea. forgot that smite doubles your mp if there's no skill nxt to it. (i need a refresher here.)

 

no the penalties from save work like thizz... consecutive tag is additive but smite tag is multiplied

-80% saved shadow step = 20%power >> (-60% saved trigger slash cons) = 40% power but its in consecutive -20% = 20%power >>> -40% saved phantom = 60% but.. your'e smiting it so it becomes (60%)x(1.5) =90% not 60% + 50% =110%

 

anyway thats jus little difference i guess so no need to sweat it much .-.

 

its why if u smite a skill immediately after save, u net 60%
most would compute it 90% but u can confirm in a few tries that it is ~60%

 

How's the damage?

 

ic. im not sure tho but that how others understand it i think (including me). you can check Zenki combo. 5 skills phantom @4th combo slot and gives 110%. im quite confuse now.
