Playing LUK mage

I would like to ask for your insights about my LUK mage which I planned to be my refiner and farmer as well. However, I would like also to use my mage to farm bosses too (idk if it really works) while retaining my stats so here's my questions:
Btw, full LUK, INT rest
1. How drop rate is calculated to the amount of LUK you invested? I read somewhere here that 10 LUK is 1% drop rate, is that right? Is LUK considered in the calculation of boss drops or ignored?
2. What gear options I should manage to have if I'm to farm boss? trash mobs? xtals to use? (just post link if you want)
3. What skills should I pick to set up my combo?
4. Any piece of advice or suggestions about my concept you would like to point out (for educational purposes)?
P.S. I'd read a lot of mage threads here and watched video guides from YT but I'm still confused so I ask for your help. I'm a newbie (I'm still testing the waters).
