technically speaking: ur comparing a high resist (growing even lul) boss vs a weak resistant boss which something dt cant by pass at all cause, it can be even guarded lul.

try odelon with DT you'll come to hate resistance rather than defense. Its also the reason why people hate using GSW since it lowers 210% resistance magic/physical doesnt matter. (150% on HB) if 3 stk and ull receive a death sentence unlike -mdef% or def% which isnt as big as resistances.
