    It would be 150% - 96%(150) = 150 - 144 = 6% chance to inflict instead of 4% but you get my point, either 100% or nothing.
Their inflict chance also increases by difficulty.

Actually, dps-support characters doesn’t give as much of a buff as pure support characters, simply because in a patch sometime before, vit is now used to scale with support skills, especially auras.
But still, being hit and having all your buffs gone is a huge issue, as currently most bosses have a full map aoe skill that is designed to interrupt others.such as Mauez’s half health bleed and silence, they do just 1 dmg and apply debuffs, but that 1dmg is already enough for supports to cry.

Only life recovery gets boost from vit not all of them and honestly life recovery is just a bad skill in general since the hp heal ticks are nearly not as good at the cost of making you wet paper thin. Instead a bless user mage heals way better as bless doesnt need you to be close to the caster with no negative either. Bless users go full int which help in mana recharge and they can help dps too with their magic skills when support is not as needed, if you really still want to use life recovery the same mages can go full int and rest vit (Which is the best secondary stat for them).
The point is dps is always needed everywhere no matter what you are facing while support is really not needed everywhere at all it is not even viable on some bosses like you said so all supporters should at least have some dps prowess to face anything.

I personally agree with the dps prowess part, but that kinda ruins the point of a full support, on my point of view, one reason to have a full support would be that your support would probably be last to die, since they won’t be caught casting mid animation and would provide the buff at a stable and chaotic situation. Support’s don’t actually boost dmg by a lot, from my experience, I could raise someone’s pure atk by 200-400 depending on their original atk. It scales according to the buff reciever and hence is not really too viable to boost atk. Anyways, back to topic, I believe that most supports are supposed to provide utility and survivability to others by using for example, chakra or defense aura. These allow others to do damage in a more comfortable environment.

Given what you stated, it is a fair point to say that a pure support class is not a viable option. However, there are some items that can give you another perspective to create a hybrid support.
    Lil devil barette 1000mp (phy,magic resist -ve%)
Candy Coryn staff/Granny's Bloom of Peace -ve 100% aggro
Putting Vit stat to 200+ , rest goes to MTL/INT for a survival purpose
It is really up to you but these are just suggestions
