[Ranting] can I get whatever Dev smoking when they balancing toram ?

Xtal : Grecia, Tyrant Machina, Baphomela, Odelon x2, Iconos, Cerabes. Goovua,​

this is my story. about my experience when I play Toram for whole time 72 days.
it start when i see my pupils screen shot at faceb***, then I who are a weaboo and like to read Light Novel, especially Isekai theme, start playing it, secretly. (well I am a teacher, must keep low profile yes) long story short. I like it.
then after i lv 65, one of my student caught me red handed playing toram. well. i think join guild is good right ?
from that guild I know many things... and fun too. and... bad news... that Samurai is WEAK. lower than insect in front of other class... then I say (in my heart) t('.'t I like my job, and I will proof that my choice isn't. then i excuse myself and leave my pupil guild. searching for power.

day and night I trying to find whatever be it information or item available to make my samurai stronger. I even throw USD 395 and another 100 for Orb.
for skills I starting with Zantei, then after many many many trial & error, followed by information I got i stick with Tenryuu, why I not use Garyou ? simple, I need to get high damage ASAP, ( in 7 Second ).

but i still cant beat it... it just... I dunno... d**n it... why ? if even a wallet warrior cant beat it then WHO ?

chariot pure magic, staff fu, whatever, it still same job. MAGE. Archer, I beat it long time ago. sometimes i got beat black and blue, but i accept their strength and weakness. other job ? i make peace with them. they are OKAY in my book.

it just that 1 job i see it as unfair. MAGE CLASS. you see... maybe you think its wrong, or have same opinion with me.

whatever its humble Bird wing, to Nectar, other s**t, high class Nightmare Crystal. to exotic Xtal. dont have Magic skill ? dont ever... ever... ever dream to have same amount loot or party.

have you ever see other class proudly say his skill or class ? (except tank, but that class almost extinct.) and in my experience, 8/10 tank is staff fu, chariot or any shielded mage type.
- Rank & Damage
now this is where my feeling got really really hurt. when i have yet max everything I can, I still have doubt, oh maybe my play is suks, need to git gud. owh, maybe because I still low lv, oh, maybe I put wrong combo, wrong skill point, wrong stats, hm... my equipment is lack ? etc...
but lately, all my doubt is cleared. CRYSTAL CLEAR. Mage Class is OVERPOWERED !!!
you see... I NEVER win against Mage Class. in Fast Kill Mode Boss battle. my worst is against lv 102 LUK mage with oly +E wand 1 Xtal (Grecia) 2nd worst ? lv 150 Mage witl all 1 xtal. except zahhak shield.

I at lost now... how, just how... how Dev think things like this "Balanced" ? if wallet power still cant beat class who are lower level, lower quality equipment, and not even right stat placement. just how ?

now, why I rant like a B***ch here ? I just want your opinion. or what you experience in Toram.

Basically when the tier 4 skills were introduced, that's where the tables have turned. Katana users were on top of the dps chain and then baaaaaam! Undeeeeer the seaaaaaaa~

On the bright side katana users look cool and somewhat requires skills to execute huge damage. (I'm not saying that other classes doesn't require skills) Also you don't have to deal the highest damage in toram, as long as you contribute to the party then that's enough.

How I can contribute ? if there only 2 Finale to took down a boss, take Atk Rank, Tank Rank, Breaker ? did I see a break tapping button ? support... well... do I have a buff ? getting a party is already tough man... everytime i see LFM req. they added "Finale Mass Kill" or "Tank" even better... "Stunner" just great.... good news all boss fatal attack is.... Magic damage... Cool, lets banzai charge with my -1300+ MDEF.

 

Umm i want to ask a question, do you use LOTS of mana potions when you're battling? because i noticed that you only have 6 mp bars, I'm also a katana user and I rely on tenryuu+magadachi and then spam tenryuu to maximize my damage and I know that how much damage you can do depends on how much mp you have so you can spam tenryuu and magadachi

Also why I want rank. Because i can get +1 Skill points from Emblem, and that means, I can survive better in Toram.

 

You need to set up for a high damage Zantei. (The counter, oh my.)
Too bad Finale is so op it kills the boss before you get the chance to counter the boss' Red AOE.

 

Magadachi isn't a dps skill, its main use is to save yourself by absorbing most of the damage from a hit that it counters.
Zantei would do better in this position.
Edit: But what do I know? I don't even have Tenryuu yet.

 

I always Bring 5 Buff Potion.
1. Giga Speed (+750 ASPD)
2. Power Essence / Candy (+20&2% / +40&4% ATK)
3. Magiadd III (Adala)
4. Vita Plus III (Adala)
5. Red Purple Gelatine ( +40% "100% = 1 MP bar" / 3 sec for 60 second regen MP) from Purple Gel in the sewer Next waterwheel near Hora.

I disagree, using magadachi while having tenryuu's buff changes the skill name to "tenryuu zannou" which deals roughly the same damage as Zantei's final hit counter, I know because before I became lvl 150+ I was a zantei user and have mastered it's timing to counter, i didn't even need to wait for a red aoe attack since i can use it to counter the boss' normal attack just fine, magadachi is easier to use compared to zantei because you don't need to wait to parry an attack to activate it, so u have more opportunities to use it compared to zantei
To be honest I wish the developers would buff zanteis damage, I love the fact that you would need real skills in timing it to deal good damage, nowadays i rarely use it now that I had tenryuu and magadachi, and for me personally katanas slightly became boring without the thrill of successfuly countering the boss' attack and slapping him back with a powerful counter

 

it can stack A LOT damage. in 7 second.
my combo is :
Red Purple Gelatine
Issen - Tenryuu (save) - Kairiki (cons) - Shisui (swift)
Vaccine II
Magadachi : Zannou
Spam Tenryuu.
if boss still alive... i use zantei combo.
Sword Pulse - Battlecry (Save) - Flash Blast (cons) - Shisui (cons) - zantei (smite) - Issen (swift)

 

Yep, one of the members here also posted a picture in a thread about katanas, he did over 1million damage at ulti machina by spamming tenryuu:http://toramonline.com/index.php?threads/why-katanas-are-not-that-popular.40306/page-2, also if you guys watch arewzo's katana youtube videos he has this combo utilizing halberd skill godspeedwield which decreases the animation time for tenryuu enabling him to spam ALOT faster lol, but also turns you into a glass cannon

but, still... it always... always... always... SLOWER THAN FINALE. and i dont even mention, the god damn it prorate. from mage. other member. AAND... external thing : Flinch, DIE from magic attack, stun, tumble. and miss (evade) or guard. and dont mention "non crit damage roll thing.. AAAAGH (FRUSTRATE)

 

Well hopefully in the future asobimo would introduce some more"Magic resistant bosses" lol, surely they know about mages being overpowered because of finale, they'll most likely put some kind of balances to it in the future, either in the form of more magic resistant enemies or a nerf

Just wanted to lighten up the mood and I'm not really serious when it comes to being the best or doing high damage.

But I do agree with what ruper said, let asobimo make magic resistant bosses maybe that'll lower the salt, too bad mages attack don't miss unlike physical users.

 

Tenryu is pretty good for dmg though. With good equipments and build, which you already have.
I just posted a vid about Tenryu build below this post, my equipments are not as good as you so I think yours probably do good dmg already.

Then again, yes Finale is too op. Mage can just wear any random equipments, not using any combo. And still got attacker rank.
