okay i'm very curious about this~ i just got combo feature recently and excited to try it out

it works, but the one i want cant seem to work~ wat i want to combo is

Shield bash > trigger slash (save)

if i read it right, the (save) tag says "activates the skill without using MP but the damage will greatly lowered, the damage of the following skills will also be lowered, if MP is still left, the MP cost of the last skill will increase"

so i tried using the combo when i have only 1 MP bar and...it doesnt work....it only works if i have 4 MP bar (which is the reason why i wanna use this tag in the first place)

so uhh...wats wrong here? did i misunderstood something? did i miss anything? or is this a bug?

    please help, and thanks ><

Basically, you need to comply first for the total amount of MP the skill requires, if you don't have the minimum amount to cast the combo, Save wont happen.

    EX.

Combo requirs 6 bars, and you only have 3, Save wont occure and your combo wont be completed.

Hmmm.... Id suggest placing a ticked, because might be something with your char. Save works for me perfectly fine.

just like the description says: "if MP is still left, the MP cost of the last skill will increase"

if you combine only 2 skills, the 2nd skill is the last skill and if you MP isn't 0, the MP cost will increase.
it does not only count full bars, but all your MP. so if you have half a bar left, it will increase the cost.

Thanks and here is what I had in mind, if you can help me understand...

    Combo
    Skill 1 > Skill 2 (save) > Skill 3 (Consec) > Skill 4 (smite) > Skill 5 (Consec)

    Therefore,
Skill 2 + 3 damage lowered by 'save'
Skill 2 will cost no mp
Skill 3 will cost normal mp usage -2 due to Consec
Skill 5 damage lowered by Smite
Skill 5 will cost normal mp usage - 4 due to Consec
Skill 5 mp increase if I still have mp left, since this is now the last skill? Does the mp-4 still apply from the Consec to help absorb the mp increase from 'save'?

Or did I just make this thing really complicated....

i guess the -4mp effect still applies.
but i am not sure if the mp cost increase is applied before or after the -4mp effect.
i have just obtained the combo function and can't make big combos yet.

Based on Japan Toram and some testing, this is how 'save' works.

'Save' let's you borrow mp, and the cost of borrowing is damage reduction.

The skill that you use 'save' on, will cost no mp and suffer 80% damage reduction.

The next skill used will 'pay off' the mp 'borrowed', if it actually uses mp. If you use Consec to make the skill cost 0 mp, it will not pay off anything. This skill will suffer 60% damage reduction whether you pay off the 'borrowed' mp in full or partially.

If you paid off the 'borrowed' mp, the third skill will return to normal. Otherwise, same as above but damag reduction is now 40% for this third skill.

And so on, until you paid off the 'borrowed' mp.

That's why description states, when there is mp left, the cost of the last skill will go up. Actually meaning, if the combo finishes and there are outstanding unpaid mp, the mp cost of last skill will increase.
