Share your highest magic burst damage with your MATK, I wanna know if it might be viable haha

Also if you could try it out with magic devices it would be nice thx .

 

The damage of magic burst is terrible and even worse on bosses with high magic resistance.

To boost the damage, you need high MATK, elemental advantage, battle skills and proration.

If you have all that, you can output some fairly nice dps as you can 'charge' the skill quickly provided you have 1k cspd.

In short, what burst does is provide consistent damage. Low and crappy damage but still consistent. If you can fire off a well timed finale, you don't need burst. Otherwise, if soloing, it's useful.

 

Im thinking of building a 1h md for fun if I ever get the funds for it lol.

Nope, you're better off spamming buster blade or enchant sword.

It requires too much to be used as a burst damage skill and deals lower damage than meteor breaker.

It's really only suited for mages as a way to do dps rather than burst damage from how it is designed and it fails to provide any meaningful damage as it would be better to wait for an opening then drop a finale u less you're up against things like shampy in which case it is still better to just finale after killing all add mobs.

Burst is just weak but not so weak in that it's damage is not good enough to consistently reduce the boss HP by a significant amount.

Also, using burst means you won't get rooted provided you don't have magic skills with long cast times as a precursor so that's one advantage over finale.

For MD, burst is mainly for utility rather than damage because of the rather low multiplier compared to staff which also sucks.

I'm, the skill needs to have magic Pierce and another effect other than knock back that changes with element.

 

Yeah, but if I use buster blade then I'd be like a weaker 2h.

Its more of like it might be fun to have a build that focuses on a skill that's rarely used.

Well, the damage is consistent but you'll need your combos to focus on physical proration.

To give a raw damage figure of burst, it hits about 28k on scrader norm /w char of same level. That character only had 1.3k matk (not full int yet) and had no elemental advantage. Scrader has 660k HP. It would take forever to beat scrader that way. On masked warrior, same level char, the dmg was 60k or so with elemental advantage, again not full int. Masked warrior has 276k HP.

It sucks as a finisher skill tho it does provide consistent mage dps and during the knock back you can launch a long range combo at the enemy so it is useful and it cleans up nice.

This is how bad it is. The damage does nothing, no utility other than knock back and requires magic skills to be a precursor.

You can't put it into a single combo because it'd be too long.

To be fair, the Burst combo is Swifted so you can add about 50% damage to it but it'd still be garbage for damage.

 

Aight, the new proto clarity has a ton of base atk and the 140% crit makes me think it would be nice to try crit mage but then again I'd be sacrificing alot of stats and equip slots for that. Ty for the input..

 

Yeah, I like the skill but even I haven't used it lol.

 

My idea was having a short combo like impact-trigger smite/cons, gives good ampr and with about 3 casts then impact-burst smite then u get a free mag burst

But yeah I'd need to have a ton of MATK to make burst viable.

Edit:Just watched the vid, it's pretty damn low, hoping they buff it, seems like a really nice skill if it was a lil bit stronger.

Making the skill useable is tough, it needs magic Pierce z.z

Well? You can easily make a 100% crit Burst with 1H+MD without any Crit+ stat now
