Shield mage better or arrow mage?

I was asking this question for my farm mage which I'm trying to cap. My shield mage will actually follow a bit of your burger mage but I'm still saving up for 2s staff so I can put an additional xtal for MP. Right now I only have 1.5k x-x

On topic, I choose shield mage as well. I've tried int+vit and int+dex+vit and they rarely die. Pretty flexible too since they can tank or dps. The dps players I've levelled up with always die and I have to fight the boss myself + heal them until they wake up of course there are truly pro dps which are godsend *-*b

 

Yes, I realized this just now after testing it on my luk mage - switching MP equips vs matk equips. I definitely prefer MP equips (for now) especially since I don't have maximizer yet and have to rely on good old MP charge T-T only 200k dmg but at least I can spam it 4 times before having to charge

 

i used to be shield mage like you. but then i took an arrow.... and used it as a subweapon.

i think i know where characters put the arrow that's why they lose def

 

Was under the impression that less mp charge equals faster dps, but u and BK-sama debunked that long combos are slower than finale mp charge soo...or was it?

Regardless of how many phy skills in a combo tho, mages gonna miss a lot anyway soo its just for bonus but not neccessary. Para gets half stability on magics too iirc...was it?

Also arrows are more versitile than dagger, 2mp finale is still usable in physical pts by removing phy skills but daggers get thrown out of the water without questions xdddddd. 21sp vs 10sp again lol, also its not like theres many mages these days cuz they're probably afraid 'incoming skill rebalance'.

 

How about , when u cast finale u get interrupted by flinch. Its not give u enough dmg. Then ur role will changed to be tank like u say mage shield focus on survivability and protection

 

Just wanna butt in my opinion:

If you have a good tanker buddy, be a shield mage of INT>VIT where you could help heal teammates while spamming your MP Charge-Maximizer-Impact>Finale>ender-repeat endlessly.

But if you don't, be an arrow mage where sneak>arm break>mp charge>maximizer>impact>finale>ender will be your favorite long combo.
Keep short combo (impact>finale) handy along with mp charge and maximizer shortcut within your big thumbs reach, just in case the tanker is not up to the role.

 

Gawd why even bother at lvl 155 u have so many sp that u can get both in one

 

With the accuracy reduction of finale, I might revert to arrow mage for the magic arrow (+100 accuracy).

 

For me, I still prefer shield mage.
Cause in my build, my mage was fight like a fighter lol and p.def save me tone of times though.

 

Nope, it can't prevent spell cancel and knock back
Guard just reduce the damage only but evasion can prevent both.

 

yup, spell cancel happens on hit. only dodge and evasion avoids it.
ailment inflicting attacks also don't cancel spells, unless it's knockback, flinch, tumble or stun.
not getting those is because of cooldown and resistance, not guard.

Dagger, i like - aggro + mp in dagger (i think its named biscuit dagger?)
Arrow only give stab from para and 7mp save. Not worth it imo.
Shield is nice, i have 2400mdef with gloria, gonna walk in blue aoe like a boss.

I changed sub depending on pt and boss and difficulty. Most of the time i use - 105%aggro gears (dia staff, biscuit dag, arm, ring - aggro)

Even i use md (sub) sometimes for pleasing my eyes. Why? Playing finale is boring as fvck! (compare to meele dps) i need something else to enjoy whilr playing finale.

 

I use shield if I ever need the extra resist on aoe bosses, I use dagger for extra mp+ status ailment like slow and poison if I ever fight bosses that have gimmicks like Zahhak machina(poison) or wandering wheel(slow)

not necessarily, if you stick p.def at level 1, it should not be a problem for it generates 0 aggro

 

You talk about Meteor AoEs or Bullet AoE, because i avoid Meteor AoE in dusk machina with my mage eva with -100% aggro.
In the other hand, i dont sure if i avoid bullet, because prefer run XD

Honestly, I'm not in doubt now, I'm a shield mage, and i just love having high HP and being a demi tank. And oh shit how perfect defense saves my ass all the time +-+

That's my play stile honestly, i know arrow fit on yours, i may had fun with a mage arrow too, i can put myself on your place, but shield can save me from my own stupidity on bosses xD
If i was arrow mage... God.. Wolrd record on deaths...
