Snipe Crit Penalty on Bowgun (Remove if possible)

    Isn't it about time for devs to remove the crit penalty on snipe for bowgun? This is the era of tier 4 skill called Crossfire and Snipe now is like a secondary dps skill for shot skill builds. Snipe sure is OP back on tier 3 era specially on Bowgun that resulted on crit penalty nerf but dang, after tier 4, Bow become meta and bowgun is treated like a dirt imo.

    Bowgun has a lot of drawbacks to compete damage with bow like half stability gain with arrow, unstable damage because of low stab, rate of ailment inflicted is reduced and finally snipe crit penalty.

    Removing the crit penalty on Bowgun will give a little bit of an edge on competing damage with bow and thus, isn't it viable to remove it?

    I think when the devs were thinking of what bowguns should be like, instead of having modern guns in mind, which are precise and accurate, they may have had antique guns in mind, which were basically brute force on a stick. The problem is that they forgot the force. I think if they gave them more weapon ATK that could fix the issue, but it would be tedious to go through the game's code and change all of the bowguns' ATK values. They could also make a bowgun equivalent of the crusher skills, or just let bowguns and maybe even magic devices use the crusher skills and change the tree's name to the compensation tree. Some physical pierce could be nice too, since guns were sort of the reason soldiers in history transitioned from being fully-armored to only having armor on important areas.

    I'm not a weapon specialist, but apparently Long Bows are superior in power, distance and, well, everything, while bowguns are made for people who barely know how to use a bow. Just like a gun, any idiot can use it, it does all a bow can do instantly and effortlessly, but less powerful.
    It's unfair for Bowgun users, but its.. realistic I guess.

    It we were talking about these new Rail guns and atomic shooter shit that came out, then yeah, having lower damage is bullshit.

    decent bowgun DPS builds I've seen (including one that I play) are snipe focused with cross fire as a supplementary skill, which is actually pretty decent. Although yes I do agree that the crate penalty shouldn't be there, especially because the armor break ailment is a 10% chance where bow has 100% chance, and using an arrow sub on any other weapon grants a 70% chance, so yeah that crate penalty is more a mild inconvenience (using my gear from 180 cap gesp II and a mid level crate food gives enough crate using bear hat. Really just more annoying that I have to grab the food buff than anything)

    Yes I guess, but I'm sure this skills exists to be more utility and for using on long combos with save (RIP long combos).
    still, the damage I do with it at lvl1 is quite decent, but Satelite Arrow does way more damage.

    Not recommended. Apart from the damage not really being that high, it costs more mp and generates more aggro. Don't even think of using long combo. Longer combo are not only dangerous, but also generates even more aggro in an attempt to save MP. Even if you say you're just gonna use smoke dust to cover up the MP cost and also make it shorter, that'll only make things worse and even ruin proration.

    not everything actually. Bow does great dmg overall but here's a thing or two when it comes to survivalbilty bg does the best considering they can use dagger or sheild as sub which gives more boost to guard power+recharge (sheild) n evasion recharge+chnce for dagger. Honestly i've been playing bg dagger way more than bow because its just feel nice dealing decent dmg n staying alive not to mention higher chance of keeping my cf stack undisturbed. And the fact tht bow have longer skill animation than bg really worries me. (cud solve tht wth gsw but then tht'l just add another list of worries which is risk of dying by one petite-slap lmao) u cud have an insanely high evasion rate but the fact tht timing is evrything in this game n lag issues for those players wth low end device, i think not -_-
    last but not least, bg shud be focusing more on fast-stacking dmg like agi dw n definitly not the highest in one shot like how bow cf does. remember bg cf have more powerful additional bullets in their cf. combine tht with spike dart+passivex2+passive(evasion) thts decent dmg for a short quickie combo._.b

    as for crit penalty removal, snipe on bg is already OP enuf as it is (for me at least) n we've also got high pierce bg for tht. doin so will just rise another war of toxics among dps n we've all been there no? -_-

    aside dps, has any1 use this skill to actually help their frontliner dps/tank by lowering boss's dmg dealt? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Yes, I maxed arm break on my bg tank before, but lethargy only sometimes procs because of the horrible penalty ailment reduction, so my tank mainly used armbreak to build aggro and hoping the lethargy procs at least.

    No, seriously. BGs are too overwhelmed. Back then when I first played, I imagined them as 1h:bow and 2h:bg and yet... and yet! or maybe I just don't really know how bg works :p

    One of my bow builds was focused on Shot Skill and their ailments. I find whittling down HP quick better, but it was a nice addition to have. The only thing is that it uses over a hundred skill points on Shot Skills alone, which isn't recommended for low levels especially if all you're after is damage. It was a nice addition however, against bosses with ailment weakness like Wandering Wheel and Volgagon.

    I have like 4 different bow builds for different occasions.

    I'm currently using my bg shield and brawler on Patissia, performance ofc is better than the latter. I can also alternate to bow with that tasty satellite arrow damage, but I'm trying to prevent that wide af aoe from happening with shield cannon. Cf and others are already given, but I get to use pdef as insurance, just in case manual evasion or running fails me to reach the safe spot. ^_^

    Well now with tanks comming with 1h and bg, i think its more likr 1h:bg , 2h:bow, the bg is kinda disadvantaged since 1h has dual wield, they should make gunner tree too, for dual bowgun,XD

    About the critical penalty of snipe for bowguns, i think we can just use meikyo shisui to solve it, since most bow and bowgun builds already get lvl 10 kairiki from katana skills anyway, you would only need to spend 5 more skill points to get lvl 10 meikyo. Yeah you get -5% critical damage as penalty, but that's still ok considering you can use an additional that gives 10-14% stability and a better arrow/dagger/shield that can help with damage, and not have to be stuck with bear hat and a sub with crit rate, and still do white dmg lol. I would rather take 20% additional stability than 5% critical dmg.

    I would love to see dual bowgun in the game. If it comes true then imma create one immediately.

    My favorite build in most games is physical/magical hybrid though, for some reason even I don't understand...
