    Need class recommendation.
Class that can be played solo but also would be useful in party.
One that could start off with mid-end gears and xtals
    TIA

Dual Swords have double ampr and do quite well in solo battles and in parties they tend to take aggro if a tank isnt there, if u define mid end gear as 1s gear then yes, dual swords will perform just fine, even without xtals dual swords are quite strong imo

If u want to do dmg easily then bow class is also good, it can do great in parties, and in solo you may or may not have to get used to using cf with only 3 or 4 charges, or sometimes maybe 5 charges depending on the boss, if u get a high cap lvl devoted pet then it will tank for you making solos as a bow much easier

Other classes in my opinion require a decent amount of spina to do dmg really well, these two classes also have an easy access to elemental dmg bonus

Fc17/18 arm and wep, bearhat, and machina ring with bexiz/seele should be enough, even so id suggest getting venena instead of bexiz on the ring and use gespenst2 on bear hat instead,,

mm if u dont get machina ring and without proto leon, then you would have to invest points into CRT and use shaved ice hat instead of bear hat

    I agree with this
Most of lvl 4 skills require a lot of spina. Beside bow and dual sword, the lvl 4 skills of other weapon have cons in either in solo battles or require a specific limited time weapon or spina.

Finale : high damage, but long cast. Good for party, not good for solo.
Tenryu/Garyou : high dps and very versetile, but too many conditions to use and high spina cost for weapon (or use modestia, it has +100 critical rate. But even modestia is really hard to get since p.ava is crazy strong)
(2h)Meteor/Buster : high dps and nuke damage, but requires a player made weapon with crysta to really feel its damage (i would actually recommend you this one imo. Easy 300k-400k with player made, 1 slotted equip)
Chariot/Rush : decent damage and a lot of access to boss interupt boss skill also gives status ailment, but not recommended since this is the "weakest" lvl 4 skill in the main weapon skills imo. [a weapon called master's tonfa can make this skill much more worth it, but it has -25 base critical rate (it was written -100% critical rate, but in reality its just -25) which depends on + critical rate from equip, ava, and food buff)
Dragon tooth : 100% physical pierce, high defence boss killer with +75 critical rate, but you need an elemental halberd to maximize its damage and it's very expensive.

A little reminder that all above are mostly based on just my opinion and the opinions of people around me. Feel free to correct me if there are mistakes on my statement.

For master tonfa, its actually -100% critical rate. x% critical rate is depend on your base crit, so your base crit and crt stats is nulified. But you can use flat critical rate instead of x% critical rate

Taking into account non event gears only and CB obtainable gears.

2h is probably your best bet for solo play. It's got high damage and survivability if you go Str Vit/dex.

You can easily do just NPC gear and make a very viable 2h. If you dont wanna farm this is what I would recommend

NPC craft Lil Empress to C With 1 slot (I always recommend Ultima machina. 400 MP with 4% SRD and 4% Pierce is a very balanced xta) (2m?)
1s -> Cheap armor with 7% Str, 10 Str, and 18 cr 18%cr + Ifrid (This is a custom stat i made myself that requires 61 pot armor) (2m?)
Bear Hat With whatever xta (I Recommend handmade cookie for a cheap but great xta for this set up) (700k total?)
    No slot hallucination spore (200k?)

Spend maybe 5m on this build

    This would net you
20 crit (wep) + 22 cr (Armor) + 15 (hat) + 5 (two handed passive) + 5(Crit up) + 25(Base) -> 92 Crit without stats to crit. Keep astute up and have crit food.
    1500 MP From Xtas alone
    3k HP from Wep
No tumble, and -60 aggro if you want to play in a party that'll help.

I threw these stats up on coryn and these are what you would get

2.4k ATK (using only plus C) Plus B would be closer to 2.5k
HP - 20k (No HP boost)
MP - 1.8k (No MP boost)
    Crit rate - 92%
    Crit Damage - 211%
    Pierce - 14%
    Stability - 70%
    Aggro - 50%
    300+ Def and MDef
    28 AMPR and 500 ASPD

Basically all class can solo, it’s depend on your player skill. Base on your requirement is
    1) can solo
    2) gear-independence
    3) work well with team

I assume you are new and don’t have any max cap character yet. I will propose below 2 classes

    Option 1: 1H-Shield,
shield is very useful at beginning state because it give def+ and guard to reduce mob damages, in additional guard have shield skill which can learn Protection and Aegis (recommend LVL5 will do) and Guardian that increase guard rate. When you solo you also can cast Guardian as it’s didn’t reduce your damage because you got no team but still gain guard rate buff from it. When reach LVL105 ( guess so) you can get Pdef skill for more survivability.

Blade skill can provide you flinch, Critical Buff(+25) and AMPR recovery. Beside blade skill Warcry give Damage buff to team. You May face some difficulty before LVL70 because you got less DPS skill but when reach LVL70 you will have rampage and tempest. Binding strike from knight skill is a good DPS skill at beginning state as well, it’s do boost damage from using shield.

    Option 2: Staff-Dagger(int)
The reason suggest for this is because you can easily get a good staff and armor from NPC and basically require no player craft gear. Far range normal attack, guarantee hit and fast mana regen is really work nice at beginning state. The reason use dagger is because of the spike dart skill slow down mob movement speed so they can’t get close to you frequently, throw skill at Level10 require 0 mana to cast but it’s still work on proration, which mean you can use throw skill multiple time to raise your magic proration( please don’t do this when you have party). And due to Mage build normally will have lot of buffer SP, so you may use it on support skill or craft skill it’s your want it to be parts time BS.
