Sonic Blade vs Tempest

1 handed which would win in dps 1h stinger(basically @Haroshi 's stinger with 1h) or 1h tempest. Could you give pros and cons for each

 

1h+dagger gatling would win

 

Ya I know Gatling is the best DPS 1h+dagger have access to but within the sword tree which is better sonic or tempest

 

DPS WISE
I think Stinger Type will out dps a tempest type swordsman.

Why?
Sonic Blade - Super sonic blade is fast using my combo, has high crit chance, and has low mp cost. Not to mention that the initial hit dmg of tempest alomost equal to Super sonic blade.

But in the end both is better.
I have tempest and sonic
I currently have 1700 mp. I start the battle using this combo.

Early dps while everyone still running to get close
Impact-tempest smite-sonic blade cons
Followed by:
Sonic blade-astute save-impact swift
I cast this combo 3-4 times then i switch to this combo when i notice that my damage is getting lower
Astute-sonic blade smite-impact cons
Then go back to the second combo.

Also if 1h will be stinger type it will be better dps than tempest because 1hbmain stat is usually dex but if youll be a stinger type yon can main Str stat because sonic blade has high crit and stfmr gives you more crit dmg.

You can only do 1-2normal atks before super sonic blade buff is gone (using my combo ). Ive seen someone said it was 5 sec but thats totally a lie. Try it for yourself.

 

I have my sample punching bag here. If Anyone who can kill ultimate mochelo faster than this using tempest type combo then i wilk believe tempestbis still better

How much cdmg does spiral air give with 1h sword?

 

+5cdmg ...

 

If it only gives +5 with 1h how much does it give with 2h(I thought 1h gives more)

Right, but taking away critical rate and giving it more ticks doesn't equal better damage.. and if assobimo is telling us that short lived spiral buff is a good "buff" in replacement of high frequency flinch rate and critical rate I'm honestly worried about future updates.

Oh but thank goodness there's reconsideration.. Who in the right mind would take a good blade move, take off the critical rate, and put on a minimal amount of c.dmg if the move so happens to land..

I can vouch for BKs tempest. I have partied with him before, his damage output is high for tempest. Probably the highest i have seen on most players.

Though I do like how sonic blade advances into super sonic blade. Too bad they don't let us chain it in a single combo, so it can look like a manual phatom for dw...or make the next skill be the super version...like super hard hit or super astute...super tempest...

But, I still think...that tempest as an AOE skill...should not have that much damage compared to the old rampage. The benefits of AOE in itself, should not been extended in more damage overall to a single target.

In my ideal world...where different style = different battle focus..

1 h = single target (dmg + via higher dps ( 1:2 [1h:2h] )
2 h = aoe effects (dmg +)

base damage + gear effect = x final damage

Tempest = (80%) 80k damage @ (x) over multiple targets
1h = main target 70% / others in aoe ( 60%~) + blind? AOE Small to Medium
2h = Main + all targets (90%+) + dizzy? AOE Medium to Large

Rampage = (100%) 100K damage @ (x) to a single target (no redundant)
1h = main target 100% + addtional hits = higher overall damage
2h = main target 100% + cleave aoe effect to addtional targets = lower overall damage to single target, higher overall damage to aoe cleave.

 

What are the skill multipliers for tempest 2h and tempest 1h
