It's just that if a lot of people knew more about these things, they'd be able to make informed decisions about what they want in a party.

Also if they knew what luk does, they'd definitely know that it does not equate to power (knowing the stats now are around 438) they'd have around 150-ish int with low vit, and they'd get squished once the dps stops and spend more time running around trying not to die from the mobs that they attracted aggro to.

I'll extend an olive branch and say that there are properly geared LUK mages out there, but as Alzarith pointed out, it takes a ridiculous amount of time to prep a proper LUK mage. Thus making it more feasible that there are more LUK mages out there that just leech off of people and that is not fair to the masses who don't know jack.

Exactly, time is spina. What if you're the only one doing damage? What's the point of being in a PT then? Why not solo instead?

More on time is spina. Luk types have the advantage of having a 50% more chance to get loots than you do. Now if you're dps, wouldn't that mean you'd still spend 50% more time than them farming? Not to mention that they also have a disadvantage of having lower damage.

To sum it all up, low damage, a lil higher chance of a drop (this 50% more drop over time is really noticeable) and technically you are doing all the work.

I'll level with the arguments and say that you are a geared LUK type. It still means that you are the dps and they are just piggy-backing off of you.

Time is spina sure. But they'd be ahead of you by two or three rounds when you're finally done with one.

 

On a similar note. I actually don't abhor people kicking me off the party for being weak. At least I know I'm weak.

I'd grind, farm and analyze my character and build.

I'd just smile to them when I return stronger and actually be an asset to the team.

 

Dude no need to write an essay. I make my own pt those who arent helping i kick em. Besides i make a strong and long farm party at the start to begin with.Only people i allow to leech are my guildies and frnds just to find out that they are even more hardcore farmer than me and have better gear set just for farming purposes only.

LoL how should i react to this comment im totally clueless this guy just clearly said luk is useless and luk mages are trash. Last time i chkd 90% of consumables items are farmed by these so called 50% DROP RATE WEAK luk mages.
And besides luk mages are highest spina earning charcters in any account (at least for those who dont have lvl160ftech bs or productivity Bs).
So spina spent on these So called WEAK 50% DROP RATE luk mages are worth it i guess.

 

Luck IS pretty trash lol, that ever so slight increase in drop rate is good yes, but only over time. If you are weaker, you would actually be farming slower. Luck is good at weaker mobs only. I was trying to point out the fact that using luck is a bad idea at places like plant Machina for wood, or other mobs with high hp, since you won't be able to kill them in one hit with full luck as a first stat without extra spina dedicated to the build in the first place. If you eventually make the spina back I suppose it does pay for itself, but that takes a lot of time and spina unless you're already rich. A lot of players who are farming with a luck mage are doing so because they're poor, which means the majority of luck mages will be very weak. I was also sarcastically using the word "stupid" to make fun of your usage of it earlier. Yes, luck is "good" but players advertising that they have it is the real stupid thing here

If luck gave more than a 50% increase for a loss of over 1000 matk maybe it'd be more worth using for purposes other than weak mobs

 

The only place I ever use my 150 lck mage is farming small, simple things like boars for EB. I'd never insult someone by using my lck mage at a boss. It's just a bit disrespectful imo. So I'm with Alz on this one. Lck is trash against bosses because you're leeching for the most part.

It happens alot more than you think. Had my fair share of luk players who never cared other than themselves.

It happened not too long ago when I was farming RCB and there came a finale user. The PT lead of course invited the player and I switched to my Tank to control aggro. But alas, it took us more time to kill the boss then later knowing that the player was a LUK mage.

Good on ya for your values. Kudos to you being fair to others.

I didn't wanna debate with the guy. Earlier he was saying that peeps are stupid for not knowing and later on he was saying he'd rather party up just to start farming, I also quoted him, then say "no need to write an essay" lol. Such an emotional roller coaster.
