... turns out to be rather effective (and fun!) in practice


New update using this char to farm Wandering Wheel

 

Wow, i really love this..
It's my kind of play, Hit and Run tactics.. ❤️

 

I just capped this char at carbuncle and it worked really well there too.

Swapped between impact/non-impact long combo depending on where the pt was fighting miniboss.

Best thing is, because of the stat distribution, you can give it a 2hs and itll be a great personal atk merc too, when u are playing a different char

 

wow, now i can't wait to lvl 170, i just played the game again. the last time i played lvl 110 is the cap, and im still lvl 109.. xD

That's very high attack

 

You can shukuchi and continue your combo with the Meteor break, as long as you tap once

 

The equipment is on the 2nd video, and the stats are a bit unorthodox for a dw. Its str>dex instead of str>agi

Can you try enchant sword instead of meteor? It is slower but benefits from unsheathe like storm reaper

 

Thats another interesting setup but not for me because i don't main katana and dont have an exclusive set of gear that stacks unsheathe, so I wont be so optimized for it.

Feels free to try that yourself and make it into your own personal build.

There's also a few videos of storm reaper>enchant on YouTube that shows how powerful it is with the right gear. But yeah its slower and doesnt have the i-frames that meteor does so the final attack might be harder to pull off, for a combo that is relatively long already. It could be worth the extra risk though

 

So i ended up making some unsheathe gear for a 2h evoker enchant hybrid, but the recent skill animation change made me jump ship and add enchant onto my storm breaker char, so now i have a choice between single target or aoe for final dps.

Its working out well!

 

that sc & shadowstep really fck up the proration
how about change sc with spirited dance and remove shadow step?

 

Thanks, nice ideas. The shadowstep is key to quickly get behind enemy (great when boss prepares a forward facing aoe), not sure if i could drop that. As for spirit dance, that could really work... I will try it out in the next reset (which has got to be coming soon now...)

 

yeah after i see again after shadowstep is impact which can be cast anywhere.
still tho that shadowstep can be dangerous because you can't mid stop your long combo

 

Tecnically impact and shadowstep balance each other out in proration. Your magical prorate tick (from impact) typically wouldn't apply if you weren't within 4m of the boss, like after shadowstep.

But yeah, overall the proration is a bit messed up. Lately i also added (swifted) spinning slash as combo ender for a bit more balance.

 

Sharing a personal challenge that's still in progress. Not a bad run though
