Sword Brawler

    After experimenting a brawler-archer co-incidentally with @NineArts, I came to a different conclusion and arrived at this build. It is not a build that will yield instant result, but has its potential for on going development. For sake of identity, we can call it a Swrawler ^^

    Stat build is STR -> DEX -> VIT
    Or if you are the patient type DEX -> VIT -> STR or DEX -> STR -> VIT

    Highlights
    By the time you maxed STR and DEX, you will have high atk, 2 from each STR and 2 from each DEX.
    1h swords has generally good stability
    You will have access to the widest range of skills to control boss movement
    Good crit damage with STR

    For my build, I used Full STR

    Equipment at time of writing
    Main 1h sword = Sword of Sin
    Sub knuckle = Cat paws
    Armor = Heavy Oracle robe (for AMPR and 200mp), killer coat will do just fine
    Add = Crystal earring
    Spec = DEX II, but anything that gives 300 will do just fine

    Combo: Smash > Heavy smash (Save) > Sonic wave (Consec) > Astute (Consec) > Impact (Consec) > Triple kick (Smite)

    Skills
    Hp boost
    And all skills listed above, by the time you get all the skills, you will have about 5 SP left so it's fairly straight forward.

    When more skill point is available, you could do 2 things:
    Swap Astute with Spiral air for more flinches, or
    Swap Triple kick with a 4mp sword skill or future 4th tier brawler skill for DPS purposes

    The first 5 skills will allow you to hold target in place and cancel red zones fairly frequently, and each skill is covered by a break skill to minimize the chance for this long combo being interrupted. Of course, the likes of Roga can still interrupt with his unstoppable dash, but there is very little you can do to stop that move anyways. I've seen it stopped by double Magic wall, but that more pure luck coincidence than anything else.

    Overall, this build will produce a solid tank and breaker. As for attacker, that will have to wait until we max 2 stats.

    i would like to share my inputs:

    drop Dex II, use STR, boost STR to the max limit, so that you can pump up your damage more (more STR, more Crit Dmg boost)

    Astute takes care of crit (1h = +25)

    as long as you combo, you will have your crit rate on a stable level, 5-6 skill combos always require Quick Draw Lv.10

    also, i think it's best to drop Sonic Wave in favor of max Impact, however, you can't stop Roga's Dash without Sonic Wave.

    Smash ~> Heavy Smash (Save) ~> Astute (Cons) ~> Shell Break (Cons) ~> Impact (Cons) ~> Triple Kick (Smite)

    this will yield higher breaker+tank, especially if you replace Astute with Bash

    with regards to maxing 2 stats, yep that's the hidden gem on this build ;)

    Why cat paws? i tho secondary knuckle will give no effect except strengthen martial skill..

    Back then it did affect stability. Not anymore.

    Hi Saphos,
    since kunckle has no effect, does it mean any knuckles will do for this build?

    Yes, the knuckles didn't matter anymore, neither element or stats or stability. Just go with the looks for now.

    I noticed the new Berzerker knuckle says 'dark element atk+2%'. I was happy for a while thinking that Sword of Sin will change applicable attacks to dark element, and Berzerker knuckle will add 2% to those dark element attacks. But the devs probably meant 'dark element' and 'attack +2%' separately. I haven't tested, but likely, it wouldn't matter :(
