I wonder if we can become pro tank this way. first time heard this trick 2 months been trying to perfect all 2 of my tanks. Nvr knew there was this easy way.

 

spamming p def is better than ruining proration via spamming meteor or any phs skills . well everything needs a good practice.

 

Ik how to tank. and i also know how to manage proration. Try spamming p.def for a change on bosses other than scrader actually nv try spamming p.def with decoy on any boss for change and tank em that way after few secs tank with whole pt ded.
Edit. Meant for nm and ultim bosses (with high diff).

 

Well, everyone has their own play style. As for me i like to take dmg from boss. *love to see the hp bar when down, the thrill kinda good tho. I m also agree with you about the technique, some tanker ended up killing the party members (some tank also love to run and stay too close to others )

 

True true Ive yet to meet any tank who can p.def his way whole run by the time he counters and generate p.def aggro (newb finale and spammer 2h/dw hell even ktn (tenryu spammer) wouldve taken the aggro).

 

Op way of tanking. Only pros can achieve. Takes time but u will learn the art of p.def and decoy.

Theres no way tenryu user can take aggro from a pdef spammer. Even 2h cant steal as long as they try to stay in guardian.

Spamming pdef with decoy is indeed the smartest way to tank if you are not sure which attack can one hit kill you and which wont. Aggro is not always the tank's problem, party should sometimes cooperate as well by using sneak attack especially finale users who dont have any reason to not use it.

Interrupting is important too but on nm/ulti mode flinch/tumble/stun cooldown is very high so most of the time you wont be able to interrupt when needed.

Once you are used to the boss attacks and can know which attacks are safe to use combo on use combos with skills war cry, berserk, sanctuary and guardian(when melee user is close by). These skills generate very large aggro to all mobs in the map (after aggroing once) without damaging proration.

My tank uses double weapon set
Bowgun shield = Highest survival due to long range mobility and decoy.
Knuckle shield = All 3 interrupts for low cooldown event boss.
1h has meteor to inflict dizzy but it is not as necessary for me, maybe if I had more sp I would take.

As for equipment and stats always go mtl>vit if pure tank. Absolutely no reason to max vit first and make it disadvantageous for yourself. Never add more than 45% aggro stat too. If you are losing aggro constantly thats because your party is uncooperative not because you have less aggro%

Tank is THE EASIEST class in this game so I am not surprised that there is no line chat for them. Mtl + Decoy + P.def = Tank can never die no matter what is thrown at them. So yea theres no way they are having sad lyf either.

Thats more of my preference than a general rule. I never needed more than that. I have seen people with 0% aggro and still they tank perfectly as they rely on provoke and pdef aggro which is unaffected by the stat.
I would rather have ampr or resistance than too much aggro. Having highest aggro doesnt mean best tank coz bosses nowadays attack non aggro holder a lot anyway. Having enough mp for supporting party is better.

Tanking is easy, unless you have a potato phone and lose the aggro every 5 seconds

Bowgun tank is simply the best, with 1h tank or knuck tank you often find yourself out of mp because the boss moves so fast decoy shot is ineffective.

 

i have 1800mp, %60 aggro, high ampr also high resistance too i haven't lost aggro(tooo rarely at start of battle a few times) and even when there is multiple bosses and i dont use provake.
i have seen a lot of times tanks were losing snowman aggro at noeliel tbh... farmed for days with 15+ different tanks
My shield has %30 aggro maybe you guys change shields but i feel more relax that way with aggro xd .
And deadly atk is fractional in my opinion

 

I am never out of mp I don't even use decoy on my 1h/shield

i dont have mp problem with 1h and i love using berserk and trigger so i prefer 1h

Snowman at noeliel are bugged. I have confirmed it myself. They reset a large chunk of tank aggro when reviving and possibly also reset sneak from finale users.

And yes I prefer imperial shield more than dark general.
As for deadly attacks being fractional you would really want to have enough mp for pdef instead of doing combos for aggro.

Either way since tank is such an easy class it is pointless comparing preferable equipment.

Also about snake, it is a buff on player so if buff stays it wont generate aggro(ik it doesn't effect finale casting aggro or buff skills etc.). i use mage too and when sneak is active i got small icon under hp bar. Because of that i dont think mage will genrate aggro with continuing sneak buff

 

Aya knows how sneak works, he's the one who told us all about it, you don't have to explain it to him lol. He was saying the snowmen in that event possibly reset sneak because they are bugged, it doesn't matter how it's *supposed* to work in that case.
