    this is my first class idea and my favourite character =(^.^)=

    The Elusive Illusionist

    The Illusionist is an "Evasion Mage" which is focused on evasion and speed.
    It's like Final Fantasy's Time Mage class :)

    Stats:
    INT, AGI, DEX at a 3:2:1 ratio
    (That means if you have15 INT, you also have 10 AGI and 5 DEX)

    INT increases matk, and also atk a little.
    AGI increases aspd, dodge and also cspd a little.
    (Aspd increases motion speed when it exceeds 1100.)
    DEX increases cspd and accuracy and also matk a little.
    (Magic ignores accuracy, but weapon attacks need it.)

    Equipment:
    Weapon: Staff
    Sub-Weapon: Dagger
    Armor Remodel: Light

    Staffs come in many variations, use whichever you like, only staffs with Guard stats are not useful here.
    For daggers, look for the ones with Evasion stats.
    (Evasion does not work against magic attacks, so keep another Dagger with magic stats as back-up.)
    Armors, Add. Gear and Rings should have magic and/or Dodge and speed stats.

    Optimal Gear:
    Staff:
    #1 Bexiz Staff - this weapon was specifically made for this class and none else :p (damage bonus to neutral)
    #2 Sage Staff - MP and magic pierce (fire)
    #3 Folium Staff - awesome attack speed and magic resistance stats (earth)
    Dagger:
    Lightweight Knive - 15% evasion, 100 aspd (-10% magic resistance, compensated by the Folium Staff's +10% magic resistance)
    Magical Dagger - 300mp, 75% Additional Magic
    Twilight Dagger - 10% apsd, 10% cspd, 10% Additional Magic, 10% Additional Melee

    Armor:
    #1 Praetor Suit - highest matk, speed and dodge. (tumble can't be used, weakness to neutral damage, but physical attacks almost never hit and neutral magic is a rare trait)
    #2 Killer Coat - magic attack and dodge, perfect for this build
    Add. Gear:
    #1 Elven Ear Cuff - great mdef buff that is not reduced by light armor, 300 cspd and 10% Evasion
    #2 Ribbon Hairband - INT, AGI and less Aggro, it's perfect ;)

    Ring:
    Philosopher's Ring - currently the strongest magic ring
    Tree Spirit Bangle - if you have enough MaxMP, use this to make use of your high aspd with extra ampr and additional damage

    Skills:
    Magic (what else :p)
    Dagger Skills (for status ailments)
    Light Armor Mastery
    Survival Skills

    First, we learn the basic magic:
    Magic Arrows - most cost efficient single target spell (+ triggers Chain Cast)
    MP Charge - gather your energy, restores MP (the Guard at the Underground Ruins recommends to master this skill first)
    Magic Wall - draws a magic circle on the ground to repel monsters, has Knockback effect
    Magic Mastery - increase the power of magic weapons, resulting in stronger attacks and magic

    Next, we make use of our dagger:

    Throwing Knife - ranged attack, MP cost becomes 0 at Lv10 (counts as physical skill)
    Spike Dart - throw multiple daggers at once, inflicts Slow, the damage increases with DEX

    After that, you can choose whichever skills you like:

    Magic Javelin - a spear falls from above, activates instantly and has a 50% chance to inflict a status ailment
    Chain Cast - triggered by Magic Arrows, reduces cast time of the next skill by 5% per skill level
    Magic Blast - unleash a magic explosion with a 25% chance to cause a status ailment
    Magic Lances - summon lances which shoot towards the target one after another, inflicts Stop
    Magic Storm - summon a small tornado, monsters are sucked into it
    Magic Lances - summon lances which shoot towards the target one after another, 90% chance to inflict Stop (for each lance)
    Power Wave - extend attack range up to 12m by shooting a wave, damage is reduced by 10%
    Poison Knife - throw a poisoned dagger, the skill damage increases with INT
    Status Effects of Javelin and Blast:
    Neutral: Flinch (interrupt attack)
    Fire: Burn (4x fractional damage)
    Water: Freeze (half motion speed)
    Wind: Blind (lowers accuracy)
    Earth: Slow (half movement speed)
    Light: Dizzy (lowers Guard and Evasion Rate)
    Dark: Fear (may prevent attacks)

    Don't forget Survival and Guard Skills:
    Short/Safe Rest - increases natural HP/MP regeneration
    HP/MP Boost - increases MaxHP/MP
    Sober Analysis - regenerate MP during battle
    Light Armor Mastery - increases Evasion Rate when light armor is equipped

    Combos:
    This is what i have set, yours might be different depending on the skills you have =(^.^)=

    Magic Arrows - Poison Knife (save) - Throwing Knife (swift) - Magic Blast (smite) - Spike Dart (cons)


    Magic Wall - Poison Knife (save) - Throwing Knife (swift) - Magic Storm (smite) - Spike Dart (cons)

    Spike Dart - Throwing Knife (swift) - Poison Knife (cons)

    my goal is to make class guides beginner friendly and usable on all levels =(^.^)=
    most of the guides i've seen before are geared towards specific player crafted gear, xtals and 1 or 2 high level skills, making them very expensive one-trick-ponies :p

    i did something also with staff+dagger and currently i like it, might be able to surpass my elemental tkicker. when it comes to damage.
    still using heavy remodeled arm atm.
    can you please try fighting ms with this build, and post damage output :p or a vid ..much appreciated

    =(^.^)= what is the unsheathe attack of the dagger with heavy armor? is it also a backdash+throwing knife or something else?
    also what is ms? and i can't fight anything yet as i just had the 8th reset yesterday and im down from Lv86 to 27 now :p

    but didnt think about evasion yet, until they update the guard skill
    anyway, how bout the magic damage, i hear this one give more damage than shield mage type,
    ever test?

    With Throwing Knife Lv10 you can spam super fast proration from a distance so your magic damage gets practically instant-boosted. Shield + Staff build needs manual (auto attack) proration preferrably with Power Wave to keep a safe distance or physical damagers in the party to enjoy the tasty 250% damage. Here's an example of how to exploit proration using Staff + Dagger, just check how the last Storm cast reached it's max proration due to the T. Knife 0 MP spam:



    The only con is that you need to be extra careful not to get hit hard, but it's a fun playstyle.

    i didn't buy any gear for this. its all self-farmed.
    and skills aren't that expensive :)

    updated optimal equipment:
    - keep the killer coat, it's still better than outerworld armor
    - forest wolf cape gets upgraded to knife belt for more power

    Though in a party mages dont usually get tank so evasion from normal atks will not be visible.
    Though it would be a fun build if you wanna try solo :D
