I'm very sorry, everyone orz I've been very busy the past days due to thesis papers and the bunch.

 

How do you think Knuckle Tanks is adopting Heavy Smash?
Heavy Smash offers 10 seconds of Lethargy with a 100% chance at level 10.
Lethargy reduces all damage done by the boss by 30% (even a fractional attack!).
Ailment Resistance is about 10 seconds.
The downside of Heavy Smash is that it offers physical proration, slightly slow attack motion, and a payoff of 400 mp.
Nevertheless, Lethargy is very attractive in tanking.
Although it will not be useful to get rid of the boss quickly.
p.s And I'm also curious about the Knuckle Tank's Chariot. Mainly about the actuality of fear.

Lethargy is great and all. A 10 seconds of reducing a boss' damage AND you can instantly re-inflict it after its duration! (or at least i heard it does). 400 Aggro generation is nothing to scoff at. There is one center problem that has a plethora amount of problems surrounding it.

Center Problem: Timing it
^Supporting problems:
- Slow animation
- hard to put on any combo due to its animation
- Lasts only 10 seconds, which means you either recast it again or forget about it.
- Leads to ALOT of bad timings.
- Knuckle tanks are slow enough in their since they dont have trigger slash or have minimal use of swift tags (unless you would go over 3 combo slots, but i would find that counter-intuitive.)
- I mean, You have other options to do than lethargy? You can P.def or *interrupt* the enemy from even doing an arena-wide AOE attack.

I am not a master after all but i just really dont find it useful due to this. At least Chariot can do its job better. Fear is powerful. However, you would rather use those skill points on other options like Decoy shot or the other bunch which helps your utility alot rather than lowering the bosses' damage. At least those skills stays for the long run.

 

I agree with you. Heavy smash theoretically looks good, but it's actually useless. I invested skill points into it and tried to put it in a combo but it was ambiguous. Except for a few exceptional situations where I can not interfere with the boss, it is more useful to do other actions. I'd like to reset the skill tree and invest in other utilities or passive skills.

Bowgun Tanks excels both in APM, Aggro Generation, and MP Recovery. Due to it being long-ranged, you’ll be able to observe the whole battlefield while easily dodging or taming the boss away from your teammates.
Hi, I just come back after long hiatus and decide to make a tank. Can someone explain what does APM mean here?

That's only an emergency for the silly ranged dps that stands outside guardian AND didn't learn a skill they absoultely should have learned. AKA sneak attack.
And yes that applies to mages too.
& there's absolutely no excuse for archers/gunners to not have sneak

 

is "light remodel armor" good for tank?, because sometimes "p.def" didnt work when guard proc

 

It's fine, you will also get extra aspd that way. Guard will still proc a lot of you're using guardian anyway

Btw, if someone use eva gem, its will be bad. I still remember tanking p.ava ( i use normal lil empress garb) but one party member use eva gem. After having an eva couple of times, its annoying and in the end unexpectedly i fell down due moved to the wrong direction.

Im making another update on the guide today! There were alot of comments and suggestions and i appreciate those who gave it as such, I added a credits content to those who have helped in adding or correcting additional info! and the links i have shared as well!

 

you do make a good point :think: ill update this doc to delete all APM content because it does seem more applicable to DPS classes (although to a short extent, much lesser for tanks too). Thanks for your opinion!
