The grind never ends! Let's talk about leveling and my current obstacle ....

Let us begin, we all know it's a grind to level up in any MMO game and toram is no exception. But post level 100 things get slow and when you run out of main quest even slower, I know there are many options to level but those options are only going to be available in a perfect world. So I have 3 accounts currently all are on separate devices, 2 of the accounts are active accounts one has 2 characters on it the other has one. The third account while partly an active account is a gatherer/storage account as it's an old device and lags it usually stays in the same locations to reduce lag.

Account 1 - main account gezus.
2 characters
-lvl 70 dw (totaly messed up build first character ever will probaly be deleted)
-lvl 103 arrow mage (255 int putting the rest into Dex following the pew pew build)

Account 2- production account Craft*or
One character
-lvl 108 tec hybrid (255 tec putting the rest Dex all skills to stat refine and synth maxed 106 prof)

Account 3- storage account item*box
One character
-lvl 66 luck (wasted 20 pts on str 171 luck drop boost lvl 10 exp boost lvl 10)

NO XTALS ON ANY ACCOUNT.......

I used my main account and a mercenary to carry my tec account and storage account, my storage account is still only in the 60s as I can't move freely without experienceing frequent crashes so item box is usually stationed at ancient empress tomb sometimes he gets moved if I have the time /patients to restart the app for every map change. Craftor is 108 thanks to the carry, using mobs +/-4 levels and main quest. I pushed level to around 78 before beginning to quest literally killed mobs till I could no longer do so effectively then switched to main quest for experience. Now I have no main quest left till next update, and the few mobs and bosses in the +/-4 range of 103 or 108 will kill my characters in one HIT and I have the same issue with bosses either they kill me to easily or it takes to long to make farming worth while. It seems at my current stand-still NC is the only answer but it's gonna take 20 stacks to get to level 110 from 108 even with my 3 accounts active in a party I only get 5-6 stks in a hour or two with a book active on one account I can pull 8-10 don't see sense in using more than one book as the time processing 2 accounts at +50% would waste the books prob spend 20 min outta 60 processing.
Only thing I can think to do to make things easier is add another luck character on my tec account for the slightly better drops. I can't think of any other way short of getting a forth device and account which is to Ooo much sometimes I question my self for using 3. Any ideas to make the grind easier????? Have I missed a leveling method????? am I destined to farm NC forever?????

 

you reached lvl 103, I see. I'd suggest dropping the alt accounts, and go to twilight dragon, till level 103, then to imitator, imiticia, iconos, so on....
go to a boss which is within 3 levels of your current level. glhf

 

I've tried the boss route problem is the ones I can beat take a while I assume your suggesting I leave the alts behind and look for a party for faster farming I assume?

 

Twilight dragon / Memeloceous is lv 98-102
Then 102-105, you can choose Don Yeti, Bexis, Imitator
105-107 Imitacia or boss in hard / nightmare difficulty
108-111, Iconos
112-116, Ifrid
116-119, Proto Leon
119-122, Nightmare Potum / Tapir / Tyrant Machina

 

for tech/luk chars you'll be needing nc. save those for when you are richer

 

I know of the bosses and the order used for leveling, the issue is my characters ability to survive the boss battles. Solo my character is inadequate in boss battles even with a Merc, even finding parties gets tough sometimes as I die more than some players and don't have an abundance of revives to burn through so it can be almost as time consuming searching for a new party after every few runs and just idly waiting when you don't have a party.

I assumed as much which kinda sucks as I built the tec character to generate spina but it's gonna need some serious investment before I can think about turning a profit currently pushing for 110 so I can stat my new staff and refine my mage gears in hopes of increasing chances of survivability.

 

Any idea approximately how many boss kills you need for each level? If that's possible to calculate at all?

 

For this one, you must pay attention while you fight which boss and your level difference.
First : no break will gave you some % exp.
Second : full break gave % exp
So you can calculate both if you wanna get 100% later on ( mean 1 lv up)

Pick up a pet for your tech char. Look up on haru chans build. Grind maybe longer but another set of guns for your tec really helps.

You only have two hands. Just hold on a pair and let the others sit on the side.

 

I mean I guess in the right party 100 kills is still faster than the 10+ stks of NC per lvl. But it requires that party that is strong enough for fast runs. I find boss farming always feels more time consuming and repetitive as you need to pay attention during the battles or you die, where as NC you can basically watch tv and spam impact>storm combo while occasionally switching rooms to reset power relationship and processing during commercials. I've tried farming roga a few times for xtal and end up bored and discouraged after 15-25 attempts even farming Mino usually takes me 3+ farms to get a stack I think my current best consecutive boss farm is 42 runs which is kind of sad seeing as I've spent 46min fighting one boss battle before........
None the less I'll give it a shot maybe I'll find a good party willing to help me.

 

Here's how I get from 100-125.
*This method has actually been tested, and it works really good.

-100-105: Crafted golems
-105-110: Iconos
-110-115: Ifrid
-115-120: Iconos (hard) or York
-120-125: Mozto Machina (121 is a bit slow, so you may want to find a different method.

*Note: Don't even think about farming Proto Leon; he's an arse.

 

??? Odd... I find farming Proto Leon(norm) easy. ( with all due respect, he can still kick a tad. ) All i did is have a def merc and spam skills at a safe distance. As an archer, its hard for me to break that lion since i get barely in range for the tap and if i do, i get knocked back after knocking him down.
Apparently my def merc/partner have outlasted the whole party in every run and i cant even remember if ever that merc died on proto leon (as i set it on attack it only lasted 15 secs, the whole 1man party got wiped at 25, traumatic yeah.)

 

If you are worried about survival on your main then beef it up! Mayam had a great guide on defenses here so check that out. OR spam at bosses less (from exp, arrow mages generates too much aggro and i scrapped mine).

Failing that, you should by default have 3 char slots. Do some more research and build up a new char from the ground up so thats its strong from the start and can handle whatever you want but can't right now.

You already have a steady source of income, all the knowledge of this forum (YouTube has a lot too) and its MUCH easier to level up using the boss ladders now. All this is plenty to get you going in your new direction.

Plus its part of this game's fun to try new builds and strategies. I'm currently saving orbs to open up my 8th char slot...

 

Imo the grinding in toram is pretty light(for now)... Grinding for 12h to gain half a lvl is pretty common in well established mmos...

I suggest to drop the other chars and focus on one... Leave the crafting and stuff when you can easily farm items to fund them...

 

Also if you don't have patience to wait for a full party, be the centre of one (i.e. the tank) and start your own! In that sense, a tanky dps char would be recommended... and it really won't take long to build it up to lvl 100+, via NCs or boss laddering.

My main is a 1h shield (only 75 pts in vit) and it can handle itself (with little revs) in all situations. As soon as you hit 125, you can get Perfect Defense and then your survivability sky rockets. Getting in a bosses face, either sidestepping their AOEs or healing up from the unavoidable ones, is pretty satisfying .

 

There are so many ways to improve your survival.
Refine your armor/add gear to +C/+D
Add more VIT/HP
Equip items that give HP/Resistances
Learn the skills protection/aegis
Use potions that give HP/Resistances

You need try at least something to improve your survival if you are having trouble of bosses in lvl 100-110 range one hit killing you then lvl130+ is even worse.

 

1st off your crazy.2nd find pt for gods sake your playing alone means your too lonely :v leave those two and look for friends.

 

My problem with Leon isn't necessarily that he's too tough to beat, he's just really annoying.

 

Friend, I also have 3 accts, but I don't really use the 3rd one, and I mainly switch between 1st and 2nd acct to farm stuff.

You should try letting your Tec acct farm by itself or along with the 3rd acct along with a mercenary and a pet. That's really the only way for them to level and do stuff in this game the way you set it up. xD
