The new evasion era: GSW Mage Solos (Update: Amalgam Solo)

I am petty new to playing mage, actually I have just reset my DW to mage yesterday so bear with my playstyle. My equipment also needs a finishing touch (my burst has still some cast time). Still: Here is my first gsw burst mage solo^^ In case you are wondering why I use EBs: I need them to recovery my HP to use Resonance effectively

Amalgam Solo (new Hanami boss):

 

Using EB isn't really an issue since you're making use of Resonance. It's the proper way there. Also, because you are making use of Godspeed Wield, that effectively gives you 1 HP because any hit you take will immediately kill you.

Your cast speed is still lacking for instant cast tho. 7.7k is the way ( ╹▽╹ )

Anyway, great job taking note of the attack pattern of the boss.

 

Ye, sadly I couldn‘t find a 2s armor with the proper stats so I am rolling with 1s for now. With the 2nd slot I could reach the 7.7k^^

 

That's one unique mage build I've never seen before

 

It's the usual Burst mage. It looks unique because very few makes one.

I'm also one of those few.

 

Update: Added Gravicep and UM solo. Mage solos just take ridiculously long compared to other solos. Comparison: My hb solo was 5:30 for UM. My mage solo 11:07.... Anyways I tried dagger sub for better proration

 

Ampr based solo characters are still generating higher dps skill count. Even with resonance mages are far from being able to be called spamming. And well, mages are pretty weak inherently. The culprit being it have a little to no damage boost from critical damage. What mages are good at is on parties they can use all kinds of auras on top of doing some damage.
