The skill, Protection, from shield skills is actually quite useful on defense. I don't have any statistical information to validate this but only my anecdotal experience.

At level 10 it lasts for 10 minutes and seems to reduce damage by a significant %.

Also the defensive aura seems to be pretty useful as well. Well as useful as auras can be...

 

Does protection scale off of anything? I have an evasion tank so my priority isn't so much sponging damage as it is evading it but lowering the damage I do receive wouldn't be half bad.

 

It may, but my guess would be that it adds a flat damage reduction increase %.

I'll have to do some testing as I've only used it with a tank char with a relatively low def. If it goes off of your def skill then it would be a must to stack this with Gloria, if your def is boosted over 1k +.

 

Please let me know. ^^ I'd like to know if the skill is worth investing in.

is protection & aegis worth investing ?

any boss that worth using aegis ?

and if we used these skills together, would it still effective or cancel the effects each other ?

IT DOES NOT CANCEL THE EFFECTS DUDE.

 

What i mean is one of them increase physical resistance but lower migical resistance, the other one is reversed.

The point is is it worth using both at the same time ? It that gonna make our def mdef better or making things worse ?

That is my point since as i said and asked many question above cuz there is no infomation in dept about them...

 

Example: If your magi def is 100 and phy def is 100
Aegis -> 150 magi def and 50 phy def
Protection -> 50 magi def and 150 phy def
Aegis and protection -> 100 magi def and 100 phy def.

 

Thx for that but we just dont know what exact % increase and decrease.

The problem is if your numberic was right then it not worth using both at the same time but what if it those skills +def/mdef 50 and -mdef/def 20(instead of 50)

Then that is different story cuz its worth using both together (IF THE NUMBER WERE TRUE)

I asked for sb who using both skill and has experienced it before ..

Anyway I highly doubt this 2 skill will be any good use now. Even gloria skill is useless.
Used on my paladin and still take the same amount of dmg. There are other that said buffing skill might be bugged or just add a empty number to your def and mdef

 

Ohh i did use it myself on low def mdef like ranger class and have the same opinion as yours . . Its not appear to make things different -_-

So im not gonna using it now just for 100th support emblems is enough -_-"..

I don't think Azloki is on the forums anymore.
To answer your question tho: drop rates are the same for vit tanks like any other class.
You could purchase the survival skill tree tho and put SP(skill points) into drop skill, it gives extra drop chance of 25% at lvl10 I think.
Or put some stats into luck , 2 luck: 1 drop℅
