bump, i hope this bump can prevent anyone who almost became a victim of fake refiners (scammers) to be safe.

I think now a day a refining service cannot be trusted at all as the scammer can even imitate these trusted player by slightly change the letter in the name to small or capital letter and no one would ever notice unless those who is really close friend with that player. But today I finally saw someone introduce his refining service with security deposits. It make me wonder why this kind of thing never being introduce before. A customer need some sort of security that their equipment will be return after they handing it out to refiners for refining. Thus I think the refiner need to pay deposit at least 90%-80% of the equipment's current value and after refining the customer will return the deposit plus the refining fee.

 

Cuz just like people don't trust refiners we don't trust those people , regardless just pm the person on forum intead of relying on sofya shouts they can be posers here. Most refiners don't really care what a poser does there always those customers who add u and u can easily get business thru pms , that idea is good but not gonna be worth it I would never pay someone to trust me I really rather just go sell plate Armors .

 

I don't think that this idea is to pay someone to gain some trust but rather you can see it as the refiner buy the equipment from the customer then sell it back to them after refining it. This idea give the customer and refiner same sort of security from not being scammed by one another.

 

True I feel you, but still still since prices not 100% accurate in game then both side may be confuse about certain items , but don't get me wrong that sure is a nice way to start build up a trust but unlike people like Erirya, Hotgrill, Say die I don't think they use that idea as there already trusted and the poser just another form of scamming the people gotta see beyond the deception.

 

I don't know if this is feasible, but wouldn't it help if we have a thread (sticky if possible) of the list of members here that have people posing as them? Just so that members here are aware since i've noticed that the number of scammers posing as someone well-known in the forums is growing more each day. I myself have a hard time keeping up with which ign's to look out for. Sure there are ways to protect yourself (the op lists the best ways, of course, but it doesnt hurt to add an additional layer of... Er... Defense). it sucks that it had to come to this, but since it's already reached this point, we might as well do all we can to help prevent others from getting scammed. And this to applies to everything, not just refining.

Yes as u can see this post I did it during the start of the massive Refiningn scams and still a pain to bump it cuz the only person that can sticky is vash the admin of the website .

 

Agreed.. you can also refine untradable. But some doesn't spend orbs on slot.. most player don't even buy orbs. 48 orbs needed to unlock 10 character slot.

Plus mats and risk should be a reason why refiner is needed

Most newbie spend their free orbs unwisely though.. avatar. Well we all got different opinions.

 

Too risky... now refiner might get scammed if the gears value is lower than refinement price
Except pay for that item price.. but if those guys just want to sell that weapon, its also a scam.
