Weapon dmg vs. stats

Hi, I made this thread because my old weapon seems to be giving me numbers slightly above my new weapon. So now I'm confused as to which would be nice to keep around, but im wondering how much dmg must we see before we change weapons or teirs.

403+B white chocolate eater vs. 360+C 7%atk+cd +17cd gwai/tyrant on Iconos

The eyeballed and shortly recorded (maintenance) dmg is similar with the later having slightly better higher end dmg on crits (200dmg averages) and on buster blades it seems to give me 2k more per hit on average. Common sense says to dust off the 408 in storage and slot it up but i dont know if cdmg needs to be stacked or if 43 or 48 weapon dmg would help push into another teir of dmg on stronger content. Coming from a few hundred other games it is truely a toss up cause I havent seen this discussed so far.

Any insights?

Yes, 403 > 360, but you have +7% atk, cd stat and 2 xtals so overall bonus is higher.
If ur choco had 2s it would be more powerful, but i doubt youd spend so much spina just to prime it.
Ive sloted my choco 421+C with DK of delusion (gwaim in proc) my atk is 2700 but i dont have a a7cc17 to compare it to.
The point in using choco is it gives -100% aggro while also giving some critrate. Cheap hardhitting weapon.

 

how much bonus base damage can weapons have?? I've never seen anything over +15 so far.

One of the other reasons i ask is because some games favor x stats over what seems like common sense (250 def vs. 1300 def and/or diminishing returns for example) so im wondering whats being favored and what stats aren't important or if weapon types come into play here.

 

Well in defs case i didnt see much of a difference between 640 and ~900 def while experimenting on my tank (resists are much better).
My choco got +17 bonus atk but idk if it can get higher (crafted more than 50 of them)

 

Actually I don't see much point for a 2h to have 0 aggro, in a party without a tank you'd be the one to tank. If the party do have a tank, guardian will reduce the aggro.
Its more for the high base Atk and the light element rather than the -100% aggro, unless you're planning to solo with mercenary/pets

In term of damage, for dark bosses Choco white eater is definitely better

 

Yup, sry for late reply lol:
1) some tanks are total shez;
2) i almost never go in a pt w/o tank (id rather switch to my geared tank);
3) was planning on using pets but this idea is postponed;
4) i have -115% aggro total, so yea, i can spam freely not getting aggroed by boss or my teammate tank (lol).
Got choco as a cheap temp weap (421+B is quite decent) now at 2.8k atk and 20k hp, but the ts was also asking about craft bonuses.

The highest ive seen so far was a 370atk lil emp 2hs. (370-344= +26 bonus)

 

On my new 2h tank I carry w.choco and carbuncle so i can tank or dps freely. Always come prepared.
