What does LUK do?

Does it only increase the drop rate?
Can i still create arms?
Will it help me get 2s equips?

i made a fresh new chara with max LUK and was wondering what should i do with rest of the stat points. I really want to know what else can LUK do.

255 LUK = drop rate multiplied by 1.25

the degradation rate when refining fails is also reduced by LUK. this is useful now since the success rate above +B is always 1%, no matter what, but this will change when tier 4 blacksmith skills release.

the chances for slots are unaffected by any stats, skills and obscure rituals.
the success rate of crafting is increased by TEC, LUK has no effect on it.

So in other words, Luck Mage is overrated?

 

It is nice for med mats. But other than that, I dont find much use for it yet. I find myself just buying random house decorations just so I can not be maxed mats and process again. I guess I gotta stop being lazy and juat go to town and sell to npc instead of process now

 

Is anyone able to confirm whether or not the boosted stat cap means you can further decrease anti-deg rate? i should i add to INT as 95% is max i can get without using higher quality anti degs?

 

Now that I created a create equip blacksmith, Im not taking LUK for granted anymore lol.

Also interested in above post.. 95% anti-degen rate is the max with 255 Luk and regular anti-degen? With only a 1% success rate, that seems like soo much pain and suffering to have +S gear.

 

I'm not sure that is still the rate(and def wont be with t4 bs skills) but ik it used to be. And for al i know, i may be quite a few caps away from being able to have a noticeable difference to anti deg%, but it's worth asking.

 

What I know about luk stat (not sure if it's still true bc some I got from very old posts ~1-2yrs):
- Drop Rate: Every point gives 0.25% drop rate, but it isn't like skill and items drop rates, because it shrinks drop possibilites from bottom, while the later shirink from top. Source: https://therevenantsguildblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/21/what-effects-drop-rate/
- Anti-Degradation Chance: Each 17 points of luck increase 1/16 chance of anti-degradation. Source: Some random page on https://www.dopr.net/toramonline-wiki (cant neither remember or search because it's in japanese, read using translator, tho). This fact is also mentioned on coryn club: http://coryn.club/guide.php?key=smith, under refining topic: "Someone at JP forum said 98.4%, however there's no exact explanation on how that number calculated". That comes from the chance of anti-deg by luck and common anti-deg item: 255 luk = 15/16 anti-deg chance, anti-deg item chance = 75% = 12/16. The chance of neither anti-degs happening (failure chance) is: 1-(1/16)*(4/16) = 0.984375 ~ 98.4%.
- Affects Treasure Chests Rewards: The chances getting xtals/orb items are higher as your luck get higher. This source come from game (asking people about treasure hunt), I didn't any formal test, but since I started using 255 luk char for treasure hunt, I got more xtals (before I got none). Maybe is just placebo effect, tho...
- Affects Some Quest Rewards: Did you know high-purity ori and hyper anti-deg are rewards of xmas stocking quest? Well, that is a just an example of quest where I got more valuable items using luk mage instead a random char. Again, this maybe is placebo effect.
- Doesn't Affect Slot Chance: This I did a more formal test: Crafted 100 Adventurer's Garb on a 255 luk char vs 255 tec. The results were very similar: About 1/8 chance of getting a slotted item, got none 2s. Btw, this doesn't proof anything, because low number of items and maybe I had bad luck on luk char xD.
- Doesn't Affect Party: Why would it?

 

I always find it hillarious how many people advertise Luk when looking for parties.. "lfp full Luk." Or even, "lfm Luk mage only."
