Why is it if you're stat putter you need tech?

I hope someone will answer this because I totally forgot why.

 

sorry for asking again, are you referring to thesuccess rate? because the plus on the item that you'll stat, I thought it depends on the level that is why if you are level 120 you can make +12crit rate.

Tech does have a big part in the success rate tho- which is why u need 255.

To do any of the currently popular stats +12 You must be at the lvl Cap.

For example: My statter is +255 Tech so my success rate is as good as anyone else, but since it's Lvl 115, it can only stat +11 right now.

 

Tech doesnt increase the success rate of statting directly, just the amount of pot you will gain from adding negative stats increases with tech which in turn increases the success.
Approximately 30.5% of the pot that is needed to add a positive stat is returned to us when we add the stat as negative when we have full 255 tech.
E.g. Def+7% on weapon takes 140pot that means when added as negative Def-7% will return you 30.5% of 140 which is 42.7 rounded down gives +42pot.
