Chronos is based on tech and int for some reason and strike stab hits harder than it does for half the mp

*facepalm* Thank you Alzy, I can look at the formula to.

I'm not talking formula though unfortunately. I'm talking about it's function design wise and why Asobimo made it how it is. It is literally just snipe with a 'placement' animation attached to it functionally speaking. As soon as the frames are made intangible, it is literally just snipe.
I'm speaking from a purely design point of view. Since that was the question I was responding to.
The "why doesn't it make you invincible in mid air?" piece.
The reason the skill itself isn't intangible is because it would literally just a be reskinned snipe. The intangible and tangible frames are what make it different functionally from snipe from a design/gameplay perspective.

That's only the buff tho isn't it?

    Chronos Buff Skill Multiplier: 0.4 + 0.01 * Skill Level + base INT/500
    Chronos Buff Skill Constant: 250 + 25 * Skill Level + TEC * 2

So I've looked at the formulas of Strike Stab and Chronos on the skill thread, and from what I've been able to understand:
Chronos has a multiplier of 6, but it's for all 3 hits. Meanwhile, Strike Stab has around 3 multiplier (including ailment on target bonus) but it is for each hit.
Chronos' constant is 400 while Strike Stab is 100 but again, Strike Stab's is for each hit. Also it says that for SS, halberd got a bonus of 100 constant though idk if it's applied to each hit or for all.
So I guess all that means more SS dmg :v correct me if I'm wrong, I don't like math..

    You missed this part:
Base Skill Multiplier: 1 + 0.5 * Skill Level; total multiplier of all hits
The multiplier is 6, but that's the TOTAL multiplier of ALL the hits. That's spread out over the three.
You are correct, strike stab is better.

More of these blatant skill gaps create a greater case for rebalance, which would mean... free resets! Let's hope it comes sooner rather than later :D

I wonder what was in the devs' minds when they were making Chronos Drive :V
Perhaps they thought halbs are already OP with DT so they decided to make a garbage skill to fill the other slot?
Who would want to use Arm Break anyways? I doubt most bow users now even have lv1 Smoke.. Why spend an extra 5 sp (or more if you don't have lv1 Smoke) for a 7MP save tag when you have Decoy shot?? I think Chronos and Arm Break are pretty useless for tier 4 skills.

Well, they certainly haven't forgotten it seeing as they play around with it on stream sometimes but my point mainly refers to design, it has to be a main weapon skill tree rather than a sub weapon because of where the devs put the tree

i hope the knuckles class does become stronger ;;.. it’s a class i’m super passionate about cause it’s basically the nail weapons of toram and to be honest it’s a SUPER fun class. imagine being so angry at a monster that you just
kick that little crap three times
or better, just kamehameha it. it’s great to punch and kick as main damages and it makes me feel kinda strong as a character cause i think of how much physical strength my character would need to do any of that. wew.
anyways, it’s sad that it’s hard to do past maybe 300k as a brawler in one skill. all these other classe can do about 1m damage or more in their skills while we can’t. all we can do for right now is hope
i don’t think asobimo has completely abandoned it. i like the company a ton and it’s very generous to players on toram so i’ve got little to no problems with it.

Right now, the best Meta for Knucks is Tonfa + MD and spam Meikyo -> Chariot or Rush-> Etherflare (For prorate) with Maximizer for MP regen.

Go Agi Str and some Vit.
Cheap Gear Set up -> Tonfa With (Pillar) highest refine possible,
    Any MD (Refine C)
    FC 16 With Ifrid
Shaved Ice Hat with Gespent 2
Machina Ring with Don Yeti and Bexiz

this should take you to about 1300 mp and 55 CR,

Make sure you have Crit up passive for perfect crit Chariots/Rushes, and mp Boost to get MP cap.

Using Chariot you will have a 7mp combo, and can spam 3 combos with full MP bar and Resonance. for about 300k a pop
Using Rush you will have a 6mp combo, and can spam 4 combos with full MP bar and Resonance for about 250k a pop
*Using TKick you will have 4mp combo and can spam 7 combo with full MP bar and Resonance for about 175k a pop

900k Damage using up all MP for Chariot and you can be further away (possible boss can teleport away causing you to miss)
1M Damage using up all MP for Rush, but you have to be closer (Won't miss unless evade)
1.23M Dmg using all MP for Tkick, but takes up a lot more time to use those combos (can do impact -> Tkick -> eflare for self proration)

that’s way expensive hah. i’ve got 7m only. anyways, thank you for those ideas. i didn’t think the magic swordsman skill tree would do any good for me (no str, i use agi dex and crit) so i sold it a few weeks ago. is there a possibility of getting anywhere near that high in damage with agi/dex/crit stats?

That's a good question... Maybe this could be your answer (with proof screenshots)?
