2H sword tempest & Rampage guide

for people new to the skill and is thinking about which one to choose or put SP in.. here's the basics
based on my experience so far with ST and rampage skill is that:

1. Rampage does significantly more damage than tempest.
2. While performing rampage you won't be able to move till the skill cast is over.
3. tempest can hold a mob/boss for a short amount of time.
4. tempest does AoE while Rampage doesn't.

my opinion?
well, considering that most people that would read this thread generally uses 2H. Keep in mind that your job is to dish out as much damage as possible
while taking little to no damage in return.
Having tested the skills multiple times iv'e come up with one conclusion. and that is "Rampage could get you low or killed". this isn't true if you know your timings right. but, i highly recommend not using this skill on high level bosses mainly because you'll be standing still for 10 secs(that is more than enough time for the boss to finish it's skill on you) without any flinch ability on the skill.

My choice?
Sword tempest is the obvious choice for a skill spamming 2h dps that I need to be. the AoE helps with some bosses like ganglef or Roga.
my combo is : Astute-->Hardhit-->TriggerSlash-->SpiralAir-->SwordTempest(All consec)

Although it doesn't do as much damage as Rampage it still finishes the combo much much faster and perfectly complements my 2H playstyle.

Question sir! How much damage different between them? Is it significant? And how many times Tempest hit?

I am a tempest knight spamming 6skills for 100mp.. Im new to this.. But my friend has a 2h.dps rampager. And i use tempest. So i compared mine from him.. His 100mp combo uses 5skills. Mine spamming 6. Our combo cspd ration is 1:2
We are both lvl75 and almost have the same item and xtals. But i always get the agro and i always get the attacker, breaker, tanker, sometime support when i use warcry..
So for me. Tempest is the best if u want a dps 2h.
Doing decent damage.

 

What combo do u use?

 

I use
HardHit>astute(consec)>impact(save)>tempest(smite) >spiral(consec)>trigger(consec)
If you put 20 crit on stats then put the remaining to strength
I guarantee that every tempest will hit criticals.
My dmg to warmonger using volg.sword @66+8 4%atk fire element and has str+2 xta is
Around 10k to 13k on first tempest hit the 2.5k to 3k for the following 7 to 8 tempest hits

 

That being said, rampage is "weaker" compared to tempest in terms of survivalbility?

 

sure, stay still at least 7s is dangerous in Roga, Mezzaluna, .... battle

 

Haven't touch those boss (unless Roga) and yes, standing 7s or more on still ground is not safe at all. (Looking at Empress Queen)

So, I guess, the only way for Rampage had equal ground in usage is that to make aggro stay out from you?
