So, as usual~ I was bored today and decide to make a little test~
Actually, I just wanna know why people always got scammed~
With that in mind~ I throw my bait one by one~
    1. I shout "SELL BBGOB XTAL". People PM me and ask about the price. So, I op the xtal, and no reply at all.
    2. I shout "SELL BBGOB XTAL 100K", and within a second I got 5~6 pm at once -_-;
All of them wanna buy it~ so when I ask "do you really buy it?" They replied "yes"
Then I replied that "even if I tried to scam you?" Then all I got is nothing, no one replying me anymore...

So, with that in mind~ I gotta ask, when someone was scammed, was it cause by scammer cunning action or their carelessly behaviour~ So if you're going to trust someone, then you have to know that there's a risk of you being scammed...

So next time before doing some business with other player (unknown, friend, guild mate, or even your neighbor), please always be careful.
Shout after got scammed by other won't help you out~

It's just only a little thought of mine after seeing so many player got scammed and feel so fury and helpless~~~
Last but not least~ pardon my english, I just wanna share my thought with you guys ^_^ Screenshot_2016-09-04-21-58-10.jpg

I do not think throwing out a low price on xtal is a accurate test for how people react to being scammed. I assume apps and extractions is what gets people.

The fact you must physically hand over your items puts players at high risk. People that get scammed are usually new players or being complacent.
In my opinion should be a whole different trade window for apps/statting/refining/xtal extraction.

Something like a Assist trade window where item is not physically traded.

My point is not on the xtal. But the player itself. And its not a test, just an entertainment for me ^_^
And everyone can got scammed if not careful, not just newbie~
Assist trade window. I don't think there will be such a thing. Even if there is such a thing, people still can got scammed.
After all, the player itself is the strongest wall to defend against scammer. But then, as I said~ be careful~

Well i dont quite get your point- "for your entertainment" and connection on being scam or buying from scammers.
Well any cheap good items are appealing,
its safe to buy anything, you just have to check for items before pressing settle.
Trusting is far different from buying.
your the one selling and for the fact that there are tricksters - youre the one who is on the loosing end.
    I do agree to FearCrow
And i do agree in your statement 'be careful' :3

    As I said~ be careful~

Your test didnt properly show how scamming would work
If you want a test regarding scamming you should do it more like this :
Try shouting that you're buying 10 stk nwoods , put all money (worth 10stk of nwoods) at first trade , then see if he'll run away with the money or continue giving you the remaining nwoods.

Both ends are always at fault when it comes to scamming , the word 'trust' shouldn't even be considered when it comes to transacting with a stranger.
As much as possible I'd totally not recommend buying services (extraction , refine and statting) to people shouting @ sofya because the risk is always there, instead ALWAYS buy your services here @ FORUM instead.
And remember a little bit of common sense will and would always save you from being scammed.

There really is no excuse for being scammed, if you put yourself in a position where it is a possibility you should know yourself what your doing is dumb. With the connections available in game or from forums there's no reason to use someone you aren't in guild with or that isn't a trusted member for anything like refine, stat, extract, or pierce. If you hand over your item to someone you don't know there's always that chance they will just run, and even when it is someone you know there is that chance as well you just have to know who to trust.

while it sucks to be scammed, most scams i've noticed lately happens on the extract / piercing side, since most of the stuff u're piercing or extracting is likely to be super op otherwise, why bother right? at the same time, you put yourself at risk when you're doing it with a complete stranger. while the forums is an awesome community with great people there are frequent newcomers that comes into the picture without knowing or having the community know much about them. everyone here starts off as a stranger, yes. but not everyone become super friendly with each other. we have an abundance of resources here that can help someone identify a scammer if they have scammed someone in our community before. For those looking for an extract or pierce or anything check out this page first - http://toramonline.com/index.php?threads/merchant-directory.13766/ if that doesn't have what you need, i highly recommend you to look for other members of the forums with a good amount of posts or someone that has become well fitted in the community before consider trusting them. but in the end, it's the people who you know very well ie friends, guilds, etc that you can really trust. When i say guilds, i mean the guilds that actually have members bonding, not one that accepts any n everybody. anyways, that's my 2 cents :)

lel tips on scammer (extract &pierce&others that require u to give ur item):
-lvl? (high lvl 90+ =more trusted than lvl 1 peepss. since if u scam, ur reputation will be gone, and all money+time poured into this acc will be gone. lol )
    -on scammer list?
-known person in sofya? (aka person who shout sell item app, pots, mats often
-price too cheap? (cheap are mostly scams.)
-ASK for something to HOLD if u dk him/her/person has no reputation etc of any sort. (THIS is VERY important. for pp high lvl they ** usually** have one or two worthy items. At least if u hold his/her worthy gear....even if the person run away with ur gear u can still sell his/her gear.)

    conclusion:
    - buy on forums
-get someone to vouch for u if ur selling
-dont trust sofya peeps. if they wanna sell just get on forums :>
-last but not least if u fear scammer just sell ur weapon clean on cb :kappa:

    tips on item trading
(eg someone give u gang and switch to miracle pot xta)
-no tips just check everytime before trade. IF the seller CANCEL TRADE 2times+ u KNOW it is scam time:stonelightning:
-if ur buying apps wait for the app to appear before buying
-if the person want u to give ur money first before he give u xta, u can block him (scammm)
-either way still depends on urself =3=/

fun thread u have here though.... but even if u might be a scammer ill still trade lol (if im free to play with u that is =-=). just look before accept >_>.
