    Hello fellow Straye. ^-^

The description of Guard Strike states:
"The damage dealt depends on Guard Power and refinement value of your shield."

So does that mean that even if your Atk / Matk is... lacking, (like a full Vit tank, or something...) the damage calculation does not rely upon the Atk / Matk scores, right?

I've been making a tank character (Staff / Shield), and wanted to know if Guard Strike would be, if not formidable, at least decent damage.

Idk the exact equation, but it still also depends on char ATK.
But, it can still make around 1k dmg on pure tank with refined shield.. So, i thought that the equation roughly is something like this
    Dmg = Constant A*Refine Value + Constant B*Refine Value*ATK

Well, I'm making a pure tank build, and the Atk is very low. I assumed that Guard Strike did not rely on Atk, but it seems like it does. Thanks for the advice. ^-^

EDIT: Since my main weapon is a staff, would the calculation use Matk instead? 0_o

The calculation is atk not matk even for staff. IMO its a waste for pure tank why? Coz it scales very quickly by crit and cdmg which you wont have on tank either. No crit = all miss.
Since it is considered physical and attacks prorate even when missed you would be doing nothing but ruin proration for your party.

Should try making a dps tank instead of a pure tank to utilize it ^^
I have a dps tank mage and can solo/survive almost all bosses on normal mode.
1h shield guardstrike build is pretty good if you wanna try.

    For a 1h shield:
    - 255 Str, 33 Dex, Atk ~1k
    - 1h (Icebrand Glacier) +C, stats: C+11 CD+11 CD+7% Atk+3%
    - Cross Shield/Marble Shield +C
    - Heavy Armor C+11, CD+11, CD+7%

Is 18k damage per hit Guard Strike considered low?

Nope haha pretty op I would say. I wanna remake my 1h shield but I just cant seem to fit all the skills that I want on the current cap... Maybe in the future or after I see lvl4 blade skills.

Same here. I'm looking at maxing 5 Shield and Knight skills for my 1H Shield semi-tank.

Guard Strike would make a pretty nice counter-attack against mobs in Dark Castle. :)
Does it have to be locked on target to proc?
If it isn't, it'll be very useful when swarmed by mobs.

Unfortunately yep guard itself needs a target to proc so guardstrike as well will need a target :/
