    Its a failed stat.
    Theres a chance that when you add a stat thats lower than 100% it will fail and the negative stats will get removed.
    Thats what happened to the armor that you saw. Its all based on chance theres no method to get it 100% success.

    just as negative stats may be weakened or removed, you might as well loose positive stats.
    it's a high risk, high reward technique that has a big chance of failure.
