Can someone explain to me what it means when an armor or weapon or any other gear piece says potential (number) where the stats are listed? I've noticed that some items listed in the consignment board have it and when you view equipment in the create equipment part for the blacksmith skill. Is this how gear gets random bonus stats like +% attack or +%crit for example. If so is how do you utilize this. I'm looking to add specific stats to an armor piece. Thanks for taking your time to read my post! :)

Potential is the number to add stats The higher the pot the more ur likely to succeed a stat that’s under 100% basically it’s what u use to our stats in there was a guide around here on stating tricks and tells u how much pot u need for them

    no randomness at all :p
a player with the Upgrade Equipment skill can freely choose the stats to add.
each stat point consumes a certain amount of potential and there can be additional costs if you pick multiple stats from the same category.
likewise, the extra cost can be converted into bonus potential when using negative stats.

although the available stats are limited and there are attack/defense penalties for weapons and armor.
defensive stats on weapons have double cost and offensive stats on armors have doube cost.
