Best xtal choice?

Trying to decide what xtals to farm and I don't want to waste time farming the wrong ones. The only one I can think of being semi-useful is the HP+100 from roars. The only other one I could think of is the gespenst xtal, but I already have more than enough mp right now.

Also, do the stats vary on boss drops vs crafted gear? I got be armor that only has HP+100 and the crafted armor has 300 HP on it.

 

Xtal to farm I would say depends on the class or desire...
I am a mage so my interests always lay with damage increase

For selling I would consider the amount of different xtals being sold daily when you are running through town... for me Gob Boss + Forest Wolf + Silver Roar Xtals sell the best and have the best drop rates.

Boss dropped item/equip varies yes but will have the best stats; the only free way to aquire this item/equip.

Crafted items/equip is special because you can choose the stat desired as well as possibly slotted.

I prefer to craft my own since the boss drop of crystal armor is rubbish lol. I play mage primarily

you will want something that compliments your playing style, Tank/Support/Dps/Breaker.

I believe when crafting gear you choose the base stat and after creation you are able to add stat with an additional fee of materials, I am currently building my armor smith so personal experience is low, but my guild members and the forum blacksmith guides are highly knowledgeable.

I would take a look at the player written guides, even the comments are highly likely to answer unknown questions XD

 

Ah OK, that makes more sense. I thought you meant I could customize gear stats at the BS and I couldn't figure out how.

Have another question for ya as well. What do you use for a sub-weapon when using a staff? The only items I find to contribute to stats that are worth anything to a mage are shields, so I have been using a kite shield for the HP+90.

 

Sub weapon of choice is Irogeon any day. +MP and something else I think lol

 

Sounds good in theory, but it doesn't actually add the bonus stats. I remember someone else saying that as well in another topic. I just tested it by taking off all my gear except my mino staff. That left me with one bar of MP. I then equipped the irogeon in the sub slot and my MP didn't change, even though it is supposed to give 150 MP. That is why I am using a shield. That actually gives me the bonus HP it says on the item.

Wait, so you can equip a shield as a sub weapon and get the stat bonus, but when you equip an Irogeon as a sub weapon you get nothing?

Because Irogeon isn't a shield.
Shields are off hand items by design, and are so coded to give their bonus from the off hand slot. Devices are main hand *weapons* (and in fact, considered two handed like two-handed swords) and give their bonus from the weapon slot.
In fact, I think the only tangible benefit from a sub weapon device is extended Wall range, it actually lowers your Atk in the sub slot.

 

Potum crystal is pretty nice for the weapon. Gives +5% evasion. The hp loss is pretty negligible to not really worry about.
