Brawler Shielder (help)

So I have been around for almost 2 months now. And I am really a BRAWLER in heart.
And I have been imagining things to how I will make a great brawler type.
And I am thinking SHIELD! This game gives me the creeps because you have a 2 hand knuckle with a shield.
That is crazy right!
For other it is just an easy brawler put AGI and CRIT then BAAAM ur strong but I think I am different.
I want to twist it a little.

I see that when it is the boss we are killing we are not really the attacker types. We are sometimes the rank 1 breaker or most likely rank 2.
So let us start with this:
I see we are evasive because of our AGI of course and most of our equips are evasive equipment.
But I have been wondering what if I tank it while disabling this monster again and again.
Our disabling skills mostly just cost 1MP you can spam it with a little AMPR in you.
I need some help really.
I wanna know more.
What does STR gives to us.
What does VIT gives to us.
I need more info before starting this one. I hope you can help me guys. Some advices from experienced guys would really help much.
I see there are a lot crystals that gives a lot of ASPD for a slotted equipment so getting that no loading attack will be easy.
So I can minimize my AGI and put more in VIT?
I played a different kind of game where knuckles there use DEX for hitting and STR for more offense. some used STR and VIT.
But it is really different here so I would really like to consult to you guys.

That build is similar to firefox build. If you want to use shield and be a tanker, spare some point into vit is suggested.
STR and DEX isnt recommended for current cap.

My previous brawler was a shielder, and honestly, apart from the big HP pool, you are no tankier than a normal brawler. Once the boss(especially Roga) cuts through your first few thousand HP, you'll gonna be in the same position as anybody else. 1st, Guard doesn't work while wearing Light Armor. 2nd, the DEF/MDEF you get from Force/Magical Shield barely makes a difference. Also, they give flat HP so their value lessens as the cap goes higher if you have VIT as secondary stat.
I heard Protection and Aegis are pretty good, but I never tried them.
Also take note, your Aspd is lower unless you maxed Shield Mastery.

 

hmmm so some skill points will be used, So the best will still be the evasive type. But in that mode i see I cannot evade Rogas attack too. Plus i die in a single blow.

 

actuely all depends on your build I've stuck with agi+vit hiting
495 atck.
5.3k HP now.
639 dodge.
and yes use shield skills also HP regen skills (never need revs) as for roga he's a pussycat and tankable all day tbh so yes agi and vit may not have worked for you but again depends on build.also note roga doesn't use a HP shread his "rush atck DMG varies depending on how close you are on the skill times usage(stand close=700 DMG received far= 1-200 so no real problem) I'll do an in depth guide later in week as this build has served me well in 17 months.brawlers ftw !!!
added note aspd at 1.3k shield mastery lvl 5.and as stated before after 1.2-1.5k aspd depending on build all further aspd is purely eye candy and not a nessesetty.

 

I'm still opting AGI-VIT on my new brawler, but completely threw out Shield Skills. Spending 25 sp for 1k HP and a few Def/Mdef is unnecessary IMO, better to put those points on maxing my Brawler skills for more reliability.

 

hpw did you make your brawler have that much hp?
How much does it add to your hp per VIT

 

....I don't know where to start.

1. Mirror shield drops from Stone merc in zok. Its a miniboss. Gives 10% Eva. That's the one you want. That's the only real shield for eva.
2. Don't bother wearing light armor. You're fast as it is and you can use the Def/MDef much more than the Flee and Aspd in boss battles.
3. Shield mastery, force shield, magic shield, hp boost...all 10. Aspd returns to normal, +1,500 hp, +20 Def/MDef if wearing normal armor.
4. The Def/MDef from the shield skills is armor dependent.
5. Light is +10 Def/MDef
6. Normal is +20 Def/MDef
7. Heavy is +40 Def/MDef
8. Guard is not worth it either. It makes you way way way to slow and easy to hit. You need to be able to move.
9. Mole Eyes equip. Read the stats. Nuff said.
10. Gloria. Take it. Survive. Giggle when roga hits you for 20 damage.
11. Jamhadar. Best knuckles in game and will be for a long time. That 40% Crit means you don't need accuracy. Crits always hit.
12. Battle skill: Def Up 10. You may think +10 Def/MDef is too small. But youd be dead wrong. Literally. Plus, this skills continues to increase as you gain lvls.
13. There's your answer.
    
14. Add this to it so you see the big picture.

Universal stacks. Aspd uses least value. The rest overlaps. Use the highest.

I met this one brawler dude with a shield on his back at Roga some weeks back.The dude even out aggroed my infinite snipe without using provoke.Was never touched myself most of the time .So I can say they are viable and hope to see more of these brawlers.

 

sorry if I've been a bit more occupied been working on a top secret build ATM using a d.wielder.
totaly top secret till fully lvld but I can say its highly making me reconsider using brawler ATM.
anyway here's run down:
agi 170.
vit 40.
crit can be added much later..
3 main stats for a semi tank build.
skills are as some mugami said.
:shield force+magic 10 (priority)
:aggravate 10.
:sonic 10
:impact (yes for holding aggro as the break rarely fails to tumble+makes last skill cost half).
:tripple kick if u want to aid with DMG.
:holy fist(combo opener 2 DMG types magic and physical+fastest launch opener+cheep 1mp cost)
:survival tree HP up 10 + fighters high 10( a must for HP regen if known how to use correct 300+ HP regen per tick).
and when enough skill points acumalate
:d.w tree godspeed-( adds a further +2% to all agi placed+ 40 str+30 dodge+50 aspd as well as a bonus at lvl 10)
GEAR-
:jhamadars+40% crit rate
:bb garb best dodge+30%+ close DMG garb available+9%
:as mugami said mirror shield.
:aditional varies stier boss version HP+15% vit+2 and leaf cape.
:ring knights talisman aggro+25% MP+250 or arm guard HP+400 aspd-10%.
XTAL-S
only roga ATM hp+:1000 attack+1%
all other xtals are a waiste of time ATM
sorry for saying it...
note not all builds suite ppl but this build using LIGHT armour has an extreme survival rate.using heavy will grant more def but then I'd have to revers agi-vit stat requirements which I'm extremely uncomfortable with.

So we stiil really need that crit rate for us to hit. I find myself not hitting roga with my equips. It is like I only hit him when the damage is yellow.
