Build Katana & tips to get last damage from zantei sentetsu

I thot we can have 100 crit with just skills alone and no gears with katana.

 

Meikyo's effect ends when you cast a skill. This makes it very difficult to use with those high cost skills: you either have to shell out a lot of MP, or compensate the crit rate somewhere else.

 

I really don't like the idea of delaying your attacks because of combos and such.
First, it's very inefficient for DPS. Longer combos means more time lost in setting up and skill casting. And if you say "Well you can simply make a 90%/110% combo", the animations still causes you to lose time to dish out the damaging skill, and Zantei is quite timing sensitive.
Second, while this works relatively well when soloing, partying with other people make it a nightmare. Suppose you're storing a 150% Zantei Settetsu and suddenly, your teammate steals the aggro. You're forced to wait the second that the boss registers its new target AND until the boss is kind enough to use an AoE. And let's not talk about interrupts. "What about Hasso?" This skill has the merit of being much more usable than Zantei, but how your teammates act still have an influence on how Hasso will work.
Third, it isn't flexible. Bosses have proven themselves to be unpredictable at times, as many of their movements are governed by RNG. What if you're in the middle of buff casting and suddenly the boss uses a move that stops your combo?
I mean, to each his own style and build, but from my experience with many classes and considering this class has a lot of utility, I'd rather focus on mobility and flexibility rather than just raw DPS.

 

Hasso hits the nerfing block, that is why we are making due to Zantei being shoved down our throat.

 

Well, we don't know how hard Hasso is going to get nerfed. Not even the code can tell us because the update on Hasso's formula will be effective only when it's uploaded there. So we have to wait until then to make a definitive decision.

 

Landing a 150% zantei is easy in a short combo even in a party. If you can't land a smited 2m zantei combo, you need to just quit Toram forever. How dare you not exploit the friendship system to get full 2slot elite equipment to land purchase pro zantei's.
