Burst damage

Just want to know what are your thoughts on Magic: Burst.
I know it is krap compared to Finale.
Is it difficult to attain insta-cast?

 

Not too hard to get, just use 8 skills before it without any cast speed, less the more cspd you have.

The biggest things burst has going for it are the ability to crit, and that it is affected by lrd and srd. This means stuff like bapho will help increase its damage, as well as the long range skill

Much less so the ability to crit, since it was implemented so horribly, but we can always pray for a change right

 

Wait, how do you make burst crit?
I am building a magic 2 hand swordsman focusing on conversion with rampage and burst as main DPS.

 

Pal i dont recomend you it that build smell failure.Burst need you cast several magic skills before to have insta cast

 

I see just as i thought.
Wirh around 1k cspd i would still need to cast 4 spells before insta-cast.

 

even with 1 k cspd it last much time

 

With 1k+ CSPD, supposedly Lvl 10 ChainCast will make Burst instant, if you use one other spell before MagicArrows. If you want to try it out, this may help?

I tried burst but the animation is slow even at instacast and I only. Manage around 11-13k with Iconos. Does conversion MATK get skill multiplier damage?

By the way I am using 3rd anniv THS +9 with 136 int

 

Shame about the animation speed (and also arrows has cast time, so the combination isn't all that instant). I also wouldn't use iconos as a benchmark as his defense feels a lot higher than most other bosses (and he guards often too). As for skill multiplier, yes I makes more logical sense that converted matk counts on the spell's skill multiplier too.
What's your current matk on this setup?

 

I have around 1.2k MATK
Level 117 and 135 int

 

I think burst is more like a quick escape method for mage.

 

I was able to make the animation faster by putting trigger slash before burst and kinda looks good. Burst does around 25k damage on ultimea jelly
Combo: meteor>trigger(save)>Burst (smite)<impact(cons)

If you have chain cast you can do arrow>burst as a combo after like 3 or 4 casts for insta-cast. And if you happen to cast 8 you get the motion speed boost for burst after arrows

 

As a magic device burst mage, the most damage I've done so far with it is about 255k but it is spammable with over 1k cast speed and short combos. The damage will be a bit higher with a staff but I don't like the smaller range as much.
