Leeching, the act of sticking close to a group of grinding players to get a share of EXP, or perhaps even paying someone to grind for you, is definitely a controversial. But for players under Level 30, is it an acceptable process? I realise some continue to leech once they reach Level 30, but do YOU think that's appropriate? I'm interested to know your thoughts.

That's completely different. Let yer friends leech of you if it floats yer boat. What I'm talking about here is leeching in popular grinding spots, such as Nisel Mountains and Ruined Temple.

It's vice versa, depending on the mood of every party member.

*I gave my brother a boost by partying with him and killing all quest boss.~^_^

I'd help a newbie if he's stuck at mq, but that's all. I wouldn't let him leech. That's taking their personal experience away. If its someone who doesn't need the experience of leveling by themselves, like everyone on my guild and friends list then I don't mind, because that's helping them, not spoiling them which is different.

I've obviously met the wrong sort of people online. I haven't even bothered asking for help as of late, I just go for the grinding or leeching off higher level buddies rather than asking for help. :p

If there was anything to be learned or gained from 1 ~ 40. Sure i'd have some beef with it. However, the only thing you skip from 1 ~ 30 is the grind for small articles and story bosses. From 30 ~ 40 you skip getting rejected from skeles and nisel wood farming.

Let's be honest. The extent of "hard work" here is making a mage and spamming wall or storm until you get a desired character to 95. Rinse and repeat, or farm a boss until you've got money to buy quest items and rinse/repeat.

If you know where you have to go as a low lv ( even pass the high aggro which you get by random mobs) to have a good leech then you actually don't need it since ur not a newb. An intelligent newb would probably flee from a place like moon palace where it gets random aggro and almost one hit by it...
So I don't tolerate leeching at high lv places since those (look like) newbs r either not intelligent enough to c what's good for them or they r actually no newbs. If they r no newbs they should have higher lv friends who they can ask for help. :)

instead of letting them leech to high levels, i'd rather help them to get better gear than leather armor, golemet and and wind staff ...

o yea good point, that's what i meant for leeching. being at the right lvl for leeching, not a low level player tryin to leech at an instant aggro place

It depends. The only reason I let you leech off me was for help. You where stuck in the main quest so I figured to help you by getting you up to LVL 30 and some bitter nuts/ nisel wood. Plus, it will help you later in the future. We did also give you some advice. ( thank you @Zenki and @-Snow- for pt )

When you leech you only miss a few valuable experiences, but that can be easily regained. Like lvling. There are many places you can grind lvls. Even if you solo. Players will assistant you in the shout chat.

Leeching with permission for newbs would be acceptable, but it can be controversial when thought out more deeply.

Do i have to list them all? :(
I help random newbies with their MQ's, but i never stay in a pt with leeches. i even give out items sometimes, and try to teach them the basics. The thing is if you let them leech to higher levels then how would they learn the game? And i'd rather have a lowbie pt member, say an agi brawler, that tries to help out even by killing mobs 1 by 1 than a storm who just stands there and doesn't do anything. i'm not gonna farm my ass of while you sit there afk. although i have let some pt members go afk for a bit specially when it's urgent.

(Short Version) I don't encourage 'leeching' - you do not grow from it

(OMG Make It Stop..pls version) Yeah, I agree that leeching should really not be a thing- not for new players anyways. I know a lot of us made it to where we are now with our own blood, sweat, and tears- personally, I feel I have matured a lot as a player- as compared to when I was a beginner. I got to where I am now, because of my own efforts- I've learned a lot I wouldn't have if I had just let a random player lvl me up- I feel that leeching can end up 'babying' somebody- thus causing a loss of potential in-game knowledge and experience. If in the odd case I ever do invite someone like this to a pt- I always teach them, rather than just give them what they want- whether it is regarding making more munny- leveling up -creating equipment etc. I always want to ensure they can apply skills into actual usage rather than continue to feed off others- i.e. How to make more munny- the process of leveling up - how to build a good sniper (just spam ask @Precaria <~~~ I guarantee he luuuvs it ;)) etc.
In regards to people who have prior experience and just want to lvl up a new character I say this- Why tether yourself to other players to accomplish your goals? Why not take pride in your efforts and what you can accomplish with time- whether it be producing a fully capped Blacksmith or Alchemist, or developing some other character. I can proudly say that I have never leeched in order to level up a character, and I never intend to in the future- <~~~~omg why are you still reading this??? It's like 2 paragraphs!?!?! (≧∇≦)
