Really liked the originals, the new ones on 3ds tho are kinda eh. The ability to grind exp without colosseum kinda ruins the "Choose your members carefully" theme. In awakening you got that class change sht that turns you back to lvl1 and infinite grind to make any char strong as hell and throw strategy out of the window.

Its not even about the difficulty when you dont even have to make decisions in the war. The only decisions in awakening and fates were which waifu is best girl and whom should hook up with whom. Not that theres anything wrong with it but its like you came for intense SRPG action and you are served with a dating sim.

i have only played the old gameboy versions. The eliwood/lyn/hector story-my favorite and the sacred stones (which is a mixture of enjoyment and meh cos everyones op and no real threat). hector hard mode still the best since i actually got thrilled to the point of screaming when blackfang targets shitty old merlinus XD

True true... Although the path of conquest in fates is worth playing, cuz you dont have a map or a coliseum to grind exp, and weeding out the weak members as early as possible to prevent loss of valuable exp...

I also miss the old pick the right member to coerce the general to join yer side stuff in some older titles...

 

Is echoes any good? Havent played or seen any lets play. I heard it was hyped as f when first annouced as a title to bring fe back to its roots but when actually released the hype/talk just died instantly maybe coz of disappointment or just too many other good games released at the same time.

And intro graphics kinda sucks compared to awakening and fates...
