How does it work? How do i acquire one?

 

welp gem run is using a gem in boss run which boost its drop rate
Ultimate Gem :Increases Base Drop Rate to 100%.Strengthens the boss monsters.
Glory Gem :Increases Base Drop Rate to 75%.Strengthens the boss monsters.
Legendary Gem :Increases Base Drop Rate to 50%.Strengthens the boss monsters.
Super Rare Drop Gem :Increases Base Drop Rate to 25%.Strengthens the boss monsters.


u can get them from orb shops or events like dungeon event

u use them in boss run and then the other members trade u and pay u

 

I don't have the experience of a gem run, but from what I've learned:

You have a chance to get a gem from buying item chests or gem lotteries at orb shop. Once you have a gem, you can sell to three other players; price depends on rarity of the gem.
The four of you form a party and battle the agreed-upon boss and difficulty. Before entering the battle, the gem holder will select to use the gem. After a long and excruciating battle you get the sweet drops! (again depends on the gem and your luck
There are several ways to pay:

• pay before - kinda risky if you don't know the seller, some scammers can disband party immediately after payment.
• pay in - right after entering the battle, there will be a short period of time before the boss casts aggro. You can check from chat log if the seller has used the gem you bought, after that you quickly trade with the seller.
• pay out - pay after battle, risky for the seller because player can refuse to pay and disappear on ya.

 

They probably expanded the time for pay ins, from 30s to 300s but only mentioned boss colon and excava golem.

Also wont pay in kinda similar to pay out scam? Scammer could just not pay and kill the boss, what can we do about it?

 

Yeah they're the same(the risk I mean). From what I know, Pay out is usually before entering. Don't know why you have to wait after battle before paying. Trading wouldn't take 10 seconds anyway.

Pay out - Seller = scammer
Pay In - Buyer = scammer
Half Pay Out/In - Seller = definitely a scammer

 

Hmm yes you're right, though I've seen players requesting pay after battle :/

 

Nothing much in that case... Things like gem runs require mutual trust and honesty, if a player or seller surely wants to scam, the best you can do is warn others not to trust the player. Toram likely won't do anything about it because gem runs use in game currency and it was the player/seller's decision to take part.
