new ktn player but know most terminology

hi ive been playing for awhile and i just made my first katana char. after a bit of research one thing confuses me. in some videos/guides, there's been some that say dex>str and some the other way around. apparently str>dex has more dmg and dex>str is more consistent due to higher hit stat? when i put the gear listed below into coryn.club, everything from dex>str seems better than the counterpart. the base attack is higher, the attack when crit is higher, hit stat is better as well. str only has the edge in cdmg ofc but with that attack difference how is str>dex used?
Modestia 110+S odelon
Armor Dex or Str respectively+7% cdmg+7% cdmg+17 orn mom
Top Hat Odelon
Hallucination Spore Lyark (dont wanna buy more odelons lol)
Max Dex or Str respectively
Avatar stats:
Hat: cdmg+5
Top: cdmg+4 aggro+1% dex+2%
Bottom: Maxhp+5% PhyBarrier+700 cdmg+2
Passives: Bushido 5
Attack part of battle tree 10-5-10-10
Two Handed 10
Godspeed 10
Hp Boost 10
